Happy Birthday to a Beautiful You

Hello my crafting friends,  a good Monday Morning to you all.

Today's card I made for my sister earlier in the year, it was after she visited one time and looking through my stash started going ' Oh I like that, oh and that...' get what I mean, so for her birthday I put them all together and made this card, of course she was delighted.

  • Anyhow, it was a large A4 card. I took another sheet of A4 card and ran it through the Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Folder - Garden Lattice and matted this onto the base card.
  • With some Creative Expressions Foundation card - Lilac I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Bold Vintage Floret Background Pre Cut Set and embossed it with Papermania Embossing Powder - Seafoam White.
  • Using White card I cut out an aperture with Spellbinders Imperial Gold - Gold Labels Four, then embossed the edge using the largest die from the Gold Lables Four. I cut this out with some fancy edged scissors and attached it with foam pads on my card so it was over the top of the Bold Vintage Floret Background Stamp.
  • Out of more  Creative Expressions Foundation card - Lilac I die cut some flowers from Spellbinders Nestabilities - Delicate Asters and some corners from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Di-lite Fantastic Flourish Two, I placed these onto the card as seen.
  • Using some White card I die cut some flourishes from Spellbinders Venetian Motifs, leaves from Spellbinders Nestabilities - Delicate Aster, I inked through these with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Shaded Lilac, and I stamped the sentiment from the  Bold Vintage Floret Background Stamp, also in Shaded Lilac. I cut the sentiment out using the same fancy scissors and inked round the edge with the Shaded Lilac Distress Ink.
  • I attached all these to the card as seen and placed some Habico Self Adhesive Pearls in the center of each flower and on two of the corners of the sentiment.
There you have the finished card.

Happy Birthday

Morning Crafters,

Thought I would give Christmas a break, about time did I hear you say lol! Yes you can tell I have been concentrating on getting my Christmas cards done hence why I am lacking in cards for other occasions!

Anyhow, today's card is one I did a while back for a friends birthday, yes I am hunting down pictures of old cards lol!

Items Used:
  • Basic White 8 x 8 scalloped card
  • White card inked up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbling Glass over Creative Expression 'That Special Touch Mask' , think this is called Clouds but not sure as it does not have a name attached to it, I then matted it onto base card
  • Using more White card I embossed with Couture Creations Embossing Folder - Damask, extending it to cover the card, I then die cut Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lables Twenty out of the card so the aperture was in the upper center of the card.
  • On more White card I stamped using JustRite Cling Stamps -
Thank You Labels Twenty, I coloured this in with Promarkers colours: Meadow Green, Lime Green, Powder Blue, Apple, Pastel Blue and Vanilla, using JustRite Large Fancy Sentiments I stamped my sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Black Soot then die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels Twenty.
  • I wrapped a piece of Lime Green ribbon round the base of the embossed white card and tied a knot then  matted it onto my base card.
  • With the coloured in die cut Labels Twenty I attached it within the center of the aperture using Foam Pads to raise it up slightly.
There you have the finished card

Merry & Bright Christmas

Morning Crafters, my apologies for the colours on this one, decided to try something different, still not sure whether I like it or not but its certainly bright!
Thank you all for your lovely comments yesterday
I shall stay with what I am doing then, much appreciated.

Now today, quite a simple card.

Items used:

Basic White 8 x8 card, with another piece of white card I stamped Justrite Elegant Fronds background stamp randomly using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, followed by stamping Creative Expressions Stamps to Die for - Mini Lattice Bauble and Mini Ornate Bauble randomly using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers and Dried  Marigold over the White card too. I rounded the corners and matted this onto my base card.

Out of more White card I die cut two Spellbinders Nestabilities 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, one I embossed with Couture Creations Embossing Folder - Damask, the other I inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Dried Marigold and stamped with Heartfelt Creations Pre Cut Set - Sweet Memories. I placed the stamped  bauble on top of the embossed bauble and placed them in the center of the card. At the top of the baubles I attached a bow out of Orange ribbon from my own stash and placed a Creative Expressions Large Pearl Embellishment in the center of the bow.

To add the finishing touch I put Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA - Teal round the edges to look like pearls.

Elegant Reindeer & Sleigh

Morning Crafters, I am going to try a new format over the next few days as I do find I write an awful lot to describe how I make my cards and they take a lot of time to do it, so much so I find I am not having time to make any more and that would never do lol!
So  I am just going to list the products along with how they have been used and we'll see how that goes. Do let me know whether you preferred it the other way or not, thank you.

Items Used:
  • Basic White card
  • Creative Expressions Foundation card - Teal -matted onto base card
  • White card embossed with Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Folder Tweets & Twigs, inked round the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers and matted onto Teal card.
  • Justrite Elegant Fronds background stamp - stamped onto white card using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers then die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements - Majestic labels Twenty-Five, this was then attached to the top of the card.
  • Out of some packing corrugated card I die cut the Elegant Reindeer & Elegant Sleigh, both from Cottage Cutz. I think these looked rather snazzy if I do say so myself, I just thought I would give it a try as it was only thin card and it worked. I placed these inside the Majestic labels Twenty-Five cut out. The Reindeer's antlers were just lying over the top of the Majestic Labels Twenty-Five.
  • Die cut some petals & leaves from Spellbinders Shapeabilities - Layered Poinsettia and inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers. Attached these to the bottom right corner.
  • I typed up some sentiments onto White card and cut these out, inking round the edge with Peacock Feathers again and matted it onto some Teal card die cut with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Petite Labels One, placing this in the bottom left corner of the card, to finish I put a small Red gem from Kanban on the Reindeer's nose and a  Pale Blue pearl from Imports Ltd Flat beads FL397 onto the center of the Poinsettia.

Silent Night

Morning crafters, Sorry another rather busy Christmas card, though this is showing an image from one of my all time favorite artists, Thomas Kinkade. I love his work.

Thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday they really appreciated. I do try to comment on all the blogs I follow so if I have missed any then I apologize, last night I was exhausted and spent most of the evening asleep on the settee lol!! We are talking about 5pm onwards here!!! Anyway todays card...

Items Used:
  • Basic White card 8" x 8"
  • Create and Craft Pearlescent Card - Blue
  • Spellbinders M-Bossibilities folder - Garden Lattice
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic  Elements - Majestic Lables Twenty-Five
  • Spellbinders Fancy Framed Two
  • Joanna Sheen Thomas Kinkade CD-Rom
  • Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Burgundy

  • Do Crafts Papermania Clear Stamps - Sleigh (Sentiment)
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Black Soot & Fired Brick
  • Colorbox Tuscany  - Topaz
  • Colorbox Arboretum - Magenta
  • Versa Color - Royal Blue
I started off by matting and layering some White card that I had pin pricked round the edge followed by some  Create and Craft Pearlescent Card - Blue onto my base card. With more White card I stamped it up with Heartfelt Creations Peaceful Night Pre Cut Stamps using Colorbox Tuscany  - Topaz, Colorbox Arboretum - Magenta and Versa Color - Royal Blue, I then ran this through the Grand Calibar using Spellbinders M-Bossibilities folder - Garden Lattice, I rounded off the corners and matted it onto my card.

With some Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Burgundy I embossed it using Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic  Elements - Majestic Lables Twenty-Five, I then printed an image from Joanna Sheen Thomas Kinkade CD-Rom, die cut it with Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic  Elements - Majestic Lables Twenty-Five, I matted this over the burgundy embossed card so that the burgundy card came through the die cuts of the image, I attached this to the card at an angle for added interest.

Using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Black Soot  to stamp the sentiment from Do Crafts Papermania Clear Stamps - Sleigh I die cut using  Spellbinders Fancy Framed Two and inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Fired Brick, I cut some Blue & Burgundy card out with Spellbinders Fancy Framed Two, I trimmed the ends from the Burgundy card then matted the sentiment, Blue die cut and the Burgundy together as seen. I placed this in the bottom right corner, there you have the finished card.

Morning crafters, Sorry about another Christmas card but there are still more to come as I have been busy with just Christmas cards of late, I will throw in a couple of others now and then for you though lol! I just LOVE Christmas.

My apologies for not commenting on anyone's post yesterday, I will do it today I  was extremely busy and decided to enter the Crafters Companion Competition at the last minute (!!!) so I finally got that posted up by 11pm last night then it was time for bed lol! So here goes with today s card...

I folded a sheet of A4  Creative Expressions Soft Gold Card in half to make an A5 base card. With some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Gold card I ran through the Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Pirouette and put to one side.

I stamped the image using both Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Festive stamps - 'Christmas is Coming' (Truck) & 'Home from Home' (House) with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo onto White card, then with a paint brush and a little water I spread  the ink out to fill the image adding more ink to the darker areas. On some more White card I again stamped the Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Festive stamps - 'Christmas is Coming' (Truck) with the Vintage Photo Ink and again painted in the rest of the image, I cut this out and put to one side.

Using the  Spellbinders Nestabilities Grand Decorative Ovals I die cut out the first image with both stamps and inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo, using Vintage Photo Ink again I stamped my sentiment with Creative Expressions Un-mounted Stamps - Winter Greetings. With the second image of the truck that I had put aside I attached this on top of the truck on the first image to add dimension using Pinflare Silicone Glue.  With a glue pen I placed some glue on the tree, bushes, fence and roof of the house and sprinkled  Deco Art Glamour Dust over the top to look like snow. I attached the image onto the embossed centura card I had put aside, then with a sheet of Hunkydory Snow Acetate I wrapped this over my image and taped it at the back, I then attached this to my base Gold card and there you have my finished card.

First may I give a very warm welcome to two new followers Lydia & Beryl, WELCOME LADIES it's great to have you on board and I welcome any comments you wish to make concerning my blog.

Now today's card, this is a fairly simple one to make.

Items Used:
  • Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Lime Green
  • Creative Expressions Sentiments - Winter Greetings
  • White Card
  • Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles
  • Spellbinders Shapeabilities Di-Lites Petite Lables One
  • Sheena Douglass Little Bit Festive Stamps - 'Christmas Is Coming'
  • Crafters Companion Embossed Card - Snowflakes

  • Dove craft Grosgrain Creative Ribbon - Christmas Holly
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Fired Brick
  • Deco Art Glamour Dust
  • Sailor Rollerball 2 in 1 Glue Pen
  • Bakers Twine - Green
  • Pinflare Glaze
I took a sheet of A4  Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Lime Green and folded it in half so I had a A5 landscape card. I cut a piece of Crafters Companion Embossed Card - Snowflakes and wrapped some Dove craft Grosgrain Creative Ribbon - Christmas Holly round it horizontally and vertically, I then matted this onto my base card.
Using some White card I stamped my image from Sheena Douglass Little Bit Festive Stamps - 'Christmas Is Coming' and painted it using Royal Lang nickel Watercolor Paints, once dry I die cut with Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles, I then glazed over the Van and Postbox with Pinflare Glaze giving it two coats to add shine, though the images do not pick that up sorry. I applied some glue using Sailor Rollerball 2 in 1 Glue Pen to the postbox and the road under the wheels of the van and sprinkled Deco Art Glamour Dust. With some more Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Lime Green I embossed using the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles die, cut this out and layered it under the image so the Green came through the White card, I placed this in the  top left of the card using foam pads to raise it up slightly.
With a piece of White card I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expressions Sentiments - Winter Greetings using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Fired Brick and die cut with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Di-Lites Petite Lables One, whilst still in the die I inked through with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Fired Brick, I made a small hole at the end of the sentiment and threaded some Bakers Twine - Green and tied a bow, with some more Dove craft Grosgrain Creative Ribbon - Christmas Holly I tied a messy bow and attached the tag and bow to it and placed this onto the card down in the bottom right corner of the image so it hung over the other ribbon.

There you have the finished card.

I cut some more white card so it measured just inside the embossing on the Pink card and ran this through the Grand Calibar using Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Embossing Folders - Garden Lattice them matted it onto the Pink card.
With more Pink card I die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Grand Decorative Circles One and embossed using Spellbinders . M-Bossibilities Embossing Folders - Secret Garden.I placed this on the right side of the card. From the CD Rom Crafters Companion Crisalis Classics I printed off the image of a baby and die cut with  Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Labels Twenty-Two, using the same die I embossed some White card to mat the image onto, the embossed part of the White gave a little frame to the  image. I placed this into the center of the circle.

Books of Knowledge

Morning Crafters, I have one of my personal favorite cards for you today, its one I made for a dear friend Jess who left our workplace last Friday, each time I look at this card I will remember her with great fondness, she is a lovely gal who has gone to Uni to become an English Teacher and I wish her all the best, she will no doubt become one of the best English Teachers of the future.

Items Used:
  • Basic White 8" x 8" card
  • Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card- Pastels
  • White Card
  • Create and Craft Pearlescent card - Green
  • Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Green
  • Versa Color Ink - Royal Blue
  • Colour Box Inks - Tuscany
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, Dried Marigold, Crushed Olive,Vintage Photo, Black Soot and Fired Brick
  • Pinflare Craft Glaze
  • Pinflare Silicone Glue
  • Couture Creations Embossing Folder - Damask
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements - Majestic Labels Twenty-Five
  • Sheena Douglass Little Bit Magic- Knowledge, The Quest and Enchanted Doorway
  • Staedtler Metallic Marker - Gold
I first matted & layered some  Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card- Pastels slightly Gold colour onto my base card, using the same card I die cut Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements - Majestic Labels Twenty-Five using the two largest dies, I put this aside. With some White card I rubbed Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers, Dried Marigold and Shaded Lilac over it and blended them together, I then run it through Couture Creations Embossing Folder - Damask twice to extend the pattern and matted this onto my card.

Using Sheena Douglass Little Bit Magic- Knowledge I stamped the books onto some White Card with Tim Holtz Distress Inks -  Black Soot and painted them in using inks from Colour Box Inks - Tuscany, Versa Color Ink - Royal Blue and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Fired Brick and Vintage Photo, I watered down most of these colours to add the different tones on the books, I watered down Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo for the pages of the books rather than leaving them white. With the stamps from Sheena Douglass Little Bit Magic- Knowledge I stamped the words onto the binders of each book using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Black Soot, on a couple of books I added  Staedtler Metallic Marker - Gold to the binders. I cut this out and then glazed it with Pinflare Craft Glaze, I let it dry then glazed it a second time. Once dry I mounted these onto the Majestic Labels Twenty-Five with Pinflare Silicone Glue to raise them up and set aside to dry overnight.

I matted the Majestic Lables Twenty-Five die, with the books attached, onto the center of my card. Using more White card, Create and Craft Pearlescent card - Green and Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Green I stamped the leaves from Sheena Douglass Little Bit Magic- The Quest and Enchanted Doorway using Tim Holtz Distress Inks -  Black Soot, I painted them with watered down Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive and Vintage Photo leaving some of the edges white to look a little realistic, once dry I cut these out and arranged them on the card around the focal point of the books. Needless to say how I wanted them placed meant I was covering up the largest outer die from the Majestic Labels Twenty-Five
so if I ever made something like this again I would leave that off the card. With the bigger leaves in the bottom right corner I bent them a little to give them some dimension and stuck them down with Pinflare Silicone Glue.

There you have the finished card. I was quite pleased with the finished result and Jess liked it too which I was pleased about, in fact at first she did not realize I had made the card!
Good Luck Jess.

Follow Your Dreams

Morning crafters, was looking through my cards and wondering what one to show you today, I decided on this Butterfly one I made for one of my Best friends Birthdays.

Items Used:
  • 2 x A4 sheets of White card
  • Kandi core card - Green Damask
  • Marianne Designs Creatable - Butterfly
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Black Soot & Peacock Feathers
  • Spellbinders - Asian Motifs
  • Spellbinders - Asian Accents
  • Create and Craft Gems - Iridescent
  • Creative Expressions Un-Mounted Stamps - Treasured Memories
  • Habico Self Adhesive Flat-backed Pearls
  • Pinflare Silicone Glue
To start I scored a line down one edge of an A4 sheet of White card, landscape, about 1 1/2 inches in width and folded this over, I then got Marianne Designs Creatable - Butterfly and cut it out of the A4 White card three times, keeping the die cuts to one side, I attached this on top of  A4 Kandi core card - Green Damask keeping the folded edge free, this card is double sided so I used the darker tone, by attaching this to the inside front of the card it meant I had the edge of the Green card showing along the edge of my front White card and the Green showed through my Butterfly die cuts. I placed the other A4 sheet of White card underneath these and folded over the edge and attached it to the back of the second White card, this now gave me an A4 sized landscape card. I hope this makes sense? With the Butterflies that I had cut out I then mounted them back onto the die cut areas attaching them just down the bodies with Pinflare Silicone Glue, I added some  Create and Craft Gems - Iridescent down the center of the bodies and raised the wings up slightly to look like the Butterflies were flying.
Out of more White card I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expressions Un-Mounted Stamps - Treasured Memories using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Black Soot I then die cut the large square from Spellbinders - Asian Motifs and inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers. I die cut the boarder from Spellbinders - Asian Accents and attached this to lie on the Green edge of the card just slightly covering the edge of the White card. I placed the large squared sentiment as a diamond in the bottom right of the card below the Butterflies and attached a Habico Self Adhesive Flat-backed Pearl at the top. I attached three more pearls in the top left corner to balance out the card, and there it was finished.
I hope you like it,

Thanks for looking, Jacquie xxx

  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive & Peacock Feathers
  • Pinflare Silicone Glue
  • Crafters Companion Country Diary of an Edwardian lady CD-Rom - Colourised Backing Paper
First I printed off some backing paper that I had changed colour with the colouriser from  Crafters Companion Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady CD-Rom, I matted and layered this to my base card. I cut some White Card to size and with the smaller flourish from Creative Expression Sam Poole Stamps - Silhouette Poinsettia I stamped in rows diagonally, and in opposite directions, using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive & Peacock Feathers, I ran this through Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Folder - Sea Garden to give it some texture and matted and layered onto the backing paper on my card.

I die cut several flowers from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies - Layered Poinsettia out of Own Stash - Green Miri card and layered them up into three's then added a Habico Self Adhesive  Flat Backed Pearls into the center of each flower.
Onto some White card I stamped the large sentiment poinsettia stamp from the set Creative Expression Sam Poole Stamps - Silhouette Poinsettia using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive, I cut this out and matted it onto some Creative Expression Foundation card - Spring Green then cut around the edge of this leaving just a little edge of Green showing, I placed this onto my card then attached the flowers with Pinflare Silicone Glue around the bottom left side with a couple of flowers in the top right corner opposite the others. I attached four Habico Self Adhesive  Flat Backed Pearls in each of the four corners and there is the finished card.

I like this card, in a way still using traditional Christmas colours but then again not...if you know what I mean?

Wisteria

Monday Morning to you all, Another guys card, this is one I did for my Nephew last year.

May I add a warm welcome to Pauline,There is some beautiful work on her blog, you can find her here:

 http://craftingwithcotnob.blogspot.co.uk

Items Used:

  • Basic White 8" x 8" card
  • Brown card
  • Tan card
  • White card
  • Lime Green card (off cuts)
  • Sweet Poppy Stencil - Wisteria
  • Dreamweaver Stencil - Grid
  • Bakers Twine - Yellow
  • Spellbinders Dies - Fancy Frames Tags Two
  • Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Folder - Asian
  • Creative Expressions Large Fancy Sentiments
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive & Vintage Photo
  • Papermania Clear embossing Powder
  • Versamark Ink Pad
I embossed my Brown card through  Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Folder - Asian and put this to one side,
On some White card I stenciled through Dreamweaver Stencil - Grid with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive, being as this is only a small stencil I had to do it twice but it was really hard to line up exactly in order to have the grid in the correct place, these stencils have a boarder round them a lot wider that the grid in the center so trying to guess how much to allow was hard which is why, if you look close enough, there is a bigger gap in the middle. Now I wanted the Wisteria to fill in the whole area through the grid and as this is a larger stencil it meant doing it in two halves, you replace the grid stencil back in position onto the edge of the card and placing the Sweet Poppy Stencil - Wisteria over the top I stenciled through using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Crushed Olive & Vintage Photo, I then had to remove both stencils and move the grid one back over the other half, replace the Wisteria one over the top and stencil in the remainder. I know this must sound complicated but it wasn't, just a bit fiddly, if I had two stencils the same size there would not be a problem. I then removed the Wisteria stencil and inked up over the grid stencil with my Versamark Ink Pad, I did this with both halves then heat embossed with Papermania Clear embossing Powder, this gave it a ceramic tiled effect.

I matted this onto some Tan card then attached it to the left side of the Brown embossed card I had put aside earlier. With some Bakers Twine - Yellow I wrapped this round the Brown card three times as seen, I then matted this onto my base card, using some off cut Lime Green card I stamped my sentiment with Creative Expressions Large Fancy Sentiments and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo, I die cut with  Spellbinders Dies - Fancy Frames Tags Two and attached it to the center of the twine I had wrapped round the card.

There you have the finished card. A little fiddly because of the smaller stencil but quite effective. I hope you like it?

Daydreamer

Morning Crafters,  As some of you will notice I have changed the background of my blog, messing about really as I was not happy with it but changing the background also meant other changes had to be made lol! So my apologies. I will get round to changing all past posts so it is readable, I have created a lot of work for myself lol! Any comments welcome.
Oh must say a very warm welcome to Suzie, she has an amazing blog that you can view on:

http://craftinsuzie.blogspot.co.uk/

Anyhow, this is a card I made for a friend for her Birthday but on making it I did make two mistakes, quite simple ones but silly mistakes, I'll let you know what they are at the end!

Items Used;
  • Basic White 8" x 8" card
  • Kandicore card stock - Green Heritage
  • White Card
  • Create and Craft Pearlescent card- Mint Green
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Imperial Gold - Gold Elements One
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities - Scalloped Labels One
  • Spellbinders Shapeabilities Di-lites - Petite Labels One
  • Creative Expressions Large Pearl Embellishments
  • Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder - Artic Bay Lustre
  • Justrite Large Fancy Sentiments
  • Crafters Companion Crisalis Classics CD-Rom
  • Own Stash - Lilac Ribbon
  • Versamark Ink Pad
I cut a piece of  White Card and  Kandicore card stock - Green Heritage, wrapped some  Lilac Ribbon round the Green card and matted this onto the White card, I loved the pattern on this card, sadly I only had one sheet of it.
Out of more White card I die cut two of corners from Spellbinders Nestabilities Imperial Gold - Gold Elements One and placed these in opposite corners.
Using the Create and Craft Pearlescent card- Mint Green, or Turquoise colour, its hard to tell, I die cut one of Spellbinders Nestabilities - Scalloped Labels One, I then chose an image from  Crafters Companion Crisalis Classics CD-Rom, printed it off and die cut it also using Scalloped labels One, I matted and layered the image onto the pearlescent card and attached it just above the center of the card as seen.

Out of some more Mint Green and White card stock I die cut using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Di-lites - Petite Labels One, stamped my sentiment onto the White card with Justrite Large Fancy Sentiments then matted and layered them together and positioned them on the ribbon towards the bottom right corner. I made a messy bow out of some more Lilac Ribbon and attached this next to the sentiment. I took a Creative Expressions Large Pearl Embellishments rubbed it in glue with my Versamark Ink Pad and coated it with Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder - Artic Bay Lustre then heat embossed it, I felt this matched the colour of the Mint Green card. There you have your finished card.

Now you are probably wondering where the two mistakes are, well my first mistake was after I had stuck my focal image onto my card I realized that I had put it on upside down!  The two corners from Gold Elements One should have been at the bottom of the card which meant the pattern on the Green Heritage card is upside down, not that that is too noticeable. Luckily I had not stuck the layers onto my base card at that point so I was able to turn it round. My other mistake was when getting some ribbon from my craft room I took what I thought to be White ribbon, (Bad lighting honest!) it was not until I had finished the card and came into another room with natural light that I realized it was in fact lilac colour! Thankfully it still looked ok. So there it stayed lol! I am sure we have all made mistakes at one time or another with our crafting, what was yours?

Sweet Memories of the Season

A Happy Weekend crafters. Another Christmas card today but I cannot take the credit for this one as it is one that Emma Lou from Heartfelt Creations showed on the CHA show on Create and Craft channel few months back, I don't intend to show ones that I have got ideas from someone else as I prefer to showcase my own ideas but I loved this when I saw it and thought I would add my take on it onto my blog. I hope you don't mind?

I would also like to give a warm welcome to my new follower Sue, great to hear from you. You can follow Sue on:

 http://bearhousecreations.blogspot.co.uk/

Items Used:
  • Basic 8" x 8" White card base
  • White Card
  • Create and Craft  Miri card-Lilac
  • Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Embossing Folder-Garden Lattice
  • Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies - Layered Poinsettia
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Imperial Gold - Gold Circles One
  • Heartfelt Creations 'Sweet Memories' Pre-cut set
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Shaded Lilac, Black Soot and Vintage Photo
  • Kaisercraft Gems - Purple
I mattered and layered my base card with first White card then Create and Craft  Miri card- Lilac, with another piece of White card I stamped the floral from Heartfelt Creations 'Sweet Memories' Pre-cut set, I stamped this twice on the left side joining them up vertically, I decided to stamp them with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo rather than Black Soot to give a more natural look, I then ran it through the Grand Calibar using Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Embossing Folder-Garden Lattice, I glued this down into place.
I stamped my three images from Heartfelt Creations 'Sweet Memories' Pre-cut set onto White card with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Black Soot and die cut them with Spellbinders Nestabilities Imperial Gold - Gold Circles One, I  inked through the die with  Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Shaded Lilac, using some Create and Craft  Miri card-Lilac I embossed using the same Spellbinders Nestabilities Imperial Gold - Gold Circles One and cut around the edge with scissors so the White circles, once layered on top,  had some background, I hope this makes sense?

Using more White card I die cut Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies - Layered Poinsettia using the three largest dies and inked through the dies with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Shaded Lilac, I love inking through these dies as it just shows up the veins on the petals, I have made many using various coloured inks so I have a stash to use as I wish. I layered the three flowers up mis-aligning each one and placed this in the center of my floral stamp on the left of the card as shown, I attached a Kaisercraft Gems - Purple in the center of the flower to finish it off.

With my three stamped circles I placed them on the card as shown so the smallest of the three was in the bottom right corner and there you have your finished card.

Christmas baubles

A very warm Friday welcome to you crafters out there. Friday the 13th today, who's superstitious out there? I know I am, I am always wary of Friday 13th, not sure why but never like them!!!

I like to say a special welcome to two new followers today, Christine & Patricia, thank you for your nice comments guys. Now Christine and Patricia have  beautiful blogs that you can find on

http://christinescardsandcrafts.blogspot.co.uk

and

Anyway, today I have another Christmas card for you today.

Items Used:
  • Basic White 8" x 8" base card
  • Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Teal
  • Creative Expressions Stamps to Die For - Floral Bauble
  • Creative Expressions Un-Mounted Stamps - Winter Greetings
  • Crafters Companions Foil Embossed Card - Christmas Baubles
  • Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies - 2012 Snowflake Pendants
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies - 2011 Heirloom Ornaments
  • Create and Craft Pearlescent Card - Turquoise Blue
  • Papermania Embossing powder - Silver
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • Own Stash - Silver Chain Boarders White and Teal Coloured Ribbon
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbling Glass
  • Pinflare Silicone Glue
  • Grand Calibar
First I cut some Creative Expressions Foundation Card - Teal and matted this onto my base card, from a sheet of Crafters Companions Foil Embossed Card - Christmas Baubles I cut this to size and matted & layered it on top of the Teal card, this lovely card came from a Christmas kit I had a couple of years ago and I came across it when sorting my craft room out, it was a bonus find as there were quite a few sheets I had not used.
Out of more Teal card and Create and Craft Pearlescent Card - Turquoise Blue I die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies - 2011 Heirloom Ornament, the Teal card bauble I stamped with  Creative Expressions Stamps to Die For - Floral Bauble using my Versamark Ink Pad and heat embossed with Papermania Embossing powder - Silver to make the pattern of the stamp stand out, these stamps are wonderful and were designed by Sue Wilson.

Out of White card I die cut one of the snowflakes from  Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies - 2012 Snowflake Pendants, I inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbling Glass then stamped my sentiment from Creative Expressions Un-Mounted Stamps - Winter Greetings using my Versamark Ink Pad and heat embossed again with Papermania Embossing powder - Silver. I placed the snowflake in the center of my Turquoise Bauble to add interest and a place for my sentiment to be shown.
I glued the baubles onto my card with Pinflare Silicone Glue placing the smaller Teal bauble behind the larger bauble, I attached a bow on top of each bauble using Own Stash -  White and Teal Colored Ribbon then from that I attached Silver Chain Boarders to make it look like the baubles were hanging rather than sitting in mid-air.

There you have my finished card, hope you like it?

http://cuilliesocks.blogspot.co.uk/

A simple card to make today.

Items Used:
  • Basic White 8" x 8" Scalloped Card stock
  • White Card
  • Create and Craft Pearlescent Card 12" x 12" - Red
  • Create and Craft Hat Pins
  • Craftime - Bead Cage
  • Creative Expressions Pearl Embellishment
  • Creative Expressions That Special Touch Mask - Funky
  • Creative Expressions Heartfelt Sentiments
  • Creative Expressions Micro Beads
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels 20
  • Sheena Douglass Little Bit Scenic Stamps- Silhouette Grasses
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Fired Brick, Black Soot and Rusty Hinge
  • Double Sided Adhesive Sheets
  • Chinese Yuxian Papercuts - Flower
  • Own Stash - Red Polka-dot Ribbon and Red Card, Double-sided Foam Pads
  • Pinflare Silicone Glue
  • Grand Calibar
I first matted and layered some  Create and Craft Pearlescent Card 12" x 12" - Red onto my base card. I cut some White card to fit inside the Red card and rounded off the corners, I stamped two opposite corners with Sheena Douglass Little Bit Scenic Stamps- Silhouette Grasses using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Fired Brick. I then inked around the edge of the card with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Rusty Hinge, run it through the Grand Calibar with  Creative Expressions That Special Touch Mask - Funky to add texture then stuck the card down in place.
Out of Own Stash I die cut some Red and White card  using Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels 20, on the White card I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expressions Heartfelt Sentiments I then placed a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Sheet over the top and coated it in Creative Expressions Micro Beads, it was then I cursed myself as I meant to ink the edge with Fired Brick Distress Ink but it was too late and I did not want to waste it so I carried on with a stern note to myself not to rush anything again!
I placed this on top of the Red die cut and using Double-sided Foam Pads stuck it in the center of my card. Because I had forgotten about inking the edge of my sentiment this looked really bare, not nice at all! In my own stash I had some Chinese Yuxian Paper cuts, these are different wafer thin paper cuts of Oriental embellishment, you can get Butterflies, Lanterns, Dragons and Flowers to name a few so I chose one of the flowers that were Red to put in the bottom right corner then added out of my Own Stash - Red Polka-dot Ribbon in the top left corner, on this I added Creative Expressions Pearl Embellishment and Create and Craft Hat Pins, before I put the hat pins in place I added a red bead on each with the silver cup from Craftime - Bead Cage. Craftime do have their own website but I purchased these beads from The Range.
May I add that the glue I use for sticking anything down is more often than not Pinflare Silicone Glue, I love this glue as it holds everything in place, my apologies to 'Pinflare' as I don't mention it enough, we tend to take 'glue' for granted it rarely gets mentioned what glue we use!

There you have the finished card.
