Hello my crafting friends, hope today finds you all safe and well. I am remembering my Father today as it would have been his 88th Birthday, I lost him and my Mother almost 24 years ago and doesn't time fly, so Happy Birthday Dad!
Today's post has no bearing on my Father at all, it is just a card I made using some lovely stamps from our Sheena. I love the sea and beach, love spending time on the beach but have to say not on the sea!! I used to feel sea sick just crossing a river on a glorified rowing boat as a ferry! I am okay on a big ship, something more steady , not these speed boats and such alike.
I started by inking up some card with distress inks roughly then splatting some water over and left to dry. Once dry I stamped the shipwreck with Vintage Photo and Peacock Feathers then painted in the sails and boat with Vintage Photo, Black Soot and Squeezed Lemonade.
On more card I stamped the Mermaid and coloured her in also with Distress inks, roughly cut her out and placed her on the card as seen, I did not raise her up because of postage costs but I am sure she would have looked better decoupaged!
I stamped my sentiment straight onto the card, managed to squeeze it in a little space, it would have been better to have done the words separately so I could have moved it over but it was too late!
I matted and layered it up with White card and Teal card to finish the card.

ReplyDeleteHi Jacquie
ReplyDeleteI've not seen this stamp set before.
You have created the feel of a watercolour painting. Very atmospheric.
She's obviously not on a beach in this country without a cardi lol!
Best wishes.
