Wishing you wonderful Joy

Hi crafters, hope you are all well, one more day to go then we break up for Christmas, we will be going to my daughters so there wont be any posts for a while, so sorry about that but it cant be helped. Hopefully I shall have a few goodies in my Santa sack that I can play with an show the results on here, here's hoping lol!

Now todays card as you can see it is a Julia Watts influence with the self patterned background, Stamps from Creative Expressions, this was then mounted onto Gold miri card, I used the same miri card to go on the back of the sentiment.

The flower is from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Di-lites Medallion Eight, I cut the flower out of the center twice and matted together. The leaves are from SP Delicate Asters. I added a little button in the middle to finish it off.

Season's Greetings to a Special Daughter

Morning Crafters, great to visit you all again, we had a most wonderful time with my family, don't see them enough but I shall see my Sister in the New Year, before she goes back to France, and my Brother in May.

Now finally I get to show you the card I made for my Daughter for Christmas, I still have to make one for my son and hubby !!! I thought she would like a White on White one for a change so I decided on a Poinsettia wreath, it could have been better but I am happy with it. I was going to do a Holly wreath for my son but I won't have time for that now so will have to think of something else lol!

I made several Poinsettia flowers out of White vellum and White embossed them to show up the veins, I think they would have looked better using parchment and just drawing in the veins.

My sentiment I did on the computer onto Centura Pearl card then die cut it using SP Splendid Circles, I placed this in the center of the card and attached the flowers round the edge, in the center of each flower I placed a pearl. I added a few leaves which were done the same way as the flowers and there was the finished card. Sounds easy doesn't it but the flowers were very time consuming as I had to make quite a few with very little time to do them .

Items used:

White 8x8 card
White card
Sue Wilson A4 Embossing Folder-Garden Lattice
Spellbinders Splendid Circles
Spellbinders Poinsettia
Papermania Embossing Powder-Seafoam White
Habico Self Adhesive Pearls

Live in the Moment

Morning crafters, hope this finds you well, this is my last card for a few days as we are going away to visit family, my sister is over from France so we are going to see her and my brother in Birmingham. I just have not had the time to make any more cards to put on here, I am leaving my daughters card to put up on Tuesday, so hopefully then I shall be able to keep up to 2 a week until the hols when I can make more lol!

This one is one a did for my son a while back using stamps from Sam Poole I think, gosh its awful I cannot even remember lol!!! Anyway you can see what I have done, I used a Cog Creative Expression mask in the background then stamped on top with the small clock pieces. I added the Lime coloured card to brighten it up a bit as it was all Brown lol!

Anyway, I hope you all have a good weekend and I shall post again on Tuesday, I shall try to get round everyone's posts then too.

Birthday Wishes

Hi crafters, hope this finds you all well and not too stressed with all that Christmas shopping lol!

So sorry I have not got round to your blogs of late I have been so busy and we are going to visit Family over the weekend so I am hoping I can get round to everyone's blog sometime tonight lol!

Today we have another Chinese card for you, the image is again, from the Joanna Sheen Taste of the Orient CD Rom.

Not sure whether you can notice them but I threaded some Red beads onto the cord on the side of the card so they matched the lady's kimono but also added texture and interest to the card.

I will see if I can find something different for tomorrow.

Thank you for looking, Jacquie

Chinese flowers

Morning crafters, hope this finds you all well.

Almost have my Christmas shopping done, thankfully! Hows yours going?

Today is another Chinese card from the same CD Rom as yesterdays. The metal fan is from a set of Chinese embellishments I got years ago but cannot remember where from sorry.

I am now counting the days till we break up, the kids are all quite hyped up at the moment, think we all need a holiday lol!

Chinese wonder

Hi my crafting friends, was not sure what to name this one as I had not put a label on, I guess it could do as an unusual 'New Baby' card as the woman is holding a baby but then it could do for many occasions.

This was made out of some Chinese papers and I believe the image was from the Joanna Sheen CD Rom Tales of the Orient. It has some beautiful images on the CD.

Well I have finally finished my Daughters Christmas card, not bad its only taken about 3 weeks lol! Now you are probably thinking wow this must be really fancy taking that long...sorry to disappoint lol! I will up load it soon, it will give you a break from my old cards lol!  I now have to do one for my Son and Hubby!!! Must get a move on as I don't have six weeks left lol!

'Red' Indian

Hi crafters, I am back with an image from the Joanna Sheen American Frontier CD Rom. This was crying out for feathers, could have put more on but left it at two!

Thank You

Hi Crafters, hope this finds you all well? Do you remember who made these items? Wasn't it something 'Nations'? Cannot remember the full name but I can remember they used to be very popular, isn't it funny how one thing can suddenly go out of fashion so quickly?

As you can see I used a DS card for this one, I did love the Chinese lady though.

The backing papers were gorgeous too.

Spanish Love

Ola crafters! I had an international card kit a couple of years ago, maybe more, this was one of the few I made, I have so much 'old' items that I have never got round to using its unbelievable! Such a waste.

Anyhow, very simple one for you , little matting & layering but that's all. The image was the focal point really, well it would have to be as not much else on there ha ha! Sorry, getting carried away! I wish I could say a little Spanish but I am hopeless at remembering, I am in with a year 7 class for Spanish too, how bad is that lol! That is the trouble with my job (Learning Support Assistant) you learn a bit of everything but not a lot if you get my drift, I remember a bit of German as I did that for a year, I have only been doing Spanish for a couple of months, still maybe in a couple of weeks I can wish you all a Merry Christmas in Spanish?!!

Well that's all, I hope you all have a good day.

Fairy Castle

Morning crafters, a break from Christmas. today I am showing one of the  Iris folding  cards I made, apologies for those who do not like Iris folding. I used to love doing these only because they were so easy to do along with any colour etc. I still have loads I have never done and probably never will as its not seen anymore. I am sure someone out there will still be doing them.

Ang, I hope we don't get any of the white stuff yet either, not for a long time.

Patricia, glad to hear the snow has cleared up your way. Take care.

Now, this one was of a castle I did for my nieces' daughter as when she visited her Grandmother (my sister) in France she always saw these Chateau with turrets that she wanted to live in and this reminded me of those, I wouldn't mind living in one of those myself there were some beautiful ones over there. So as you can see I did one for her and another in Green which I thought would be suitable at the time for a boy, thinking Dragons castle...!!!

These were bought from Create and Craft shows about 2/3 years ago.

Christmas Choir

Morning crafters, well less than 3 weeks to go, I do hope you are able to spend Christmas with your loved ones this year.

Another image for you from the same card set as previous days only this lovely image is of the Church Choir singing round the tree. Very festive and I kept to the seasons colours with the card and ribbon!

Again could have looked better with some pretty papers in the background.

Christmas Stocking

Morning crafters, hope you are all well?

No I did not make this for my husband to give to me lol! Though it would be one sure way of receiving a card from him!!! It was one I made to sell at a fair years ago. I think it is more Kanban stock but not absolutely sure,  the more I think of it it could well be Crafters Companion, I can visualize Sara talking about how you have both pyramage & Invertage with each image as you pop the image out if you get my meaning? The card could also well be Crafters Companion? Does anyone have or had these who would know?

I do love the image of the stocking though hanging up with the teddy in, reminds me of a photo I took years ago when we had a little Cavalier King Charles puppy, I took a picture of the puppy in the stocking, and yes it was hanging up but I made sure no harm came to her as I am an avid animal lover, my kids were underneath in case the stocking fell, which it didn't.

To Mum with Love

Morning crafters,

Thank you all for the lovely comments yesterday you really are are lovely bunch. I didn't even get round to looking at my blog till after 6 last night, so, so busy at the moment, and guess what...I STILL have not finished my daughters card lol! Anyone would think its going to be extremely fancy with how long its taking me lol! Seriously I have just not had the time to do it and I still have her Christmas cake to do yet! No rush for that though as she is gluten free I cannot make it too early as it only lasts for 2 months!

Ang & Lydia, I have to say I am with you now as for rolled down corners, back then I thought they were the bees knees!

Shirley I am so glad to be one of the few, thank you!

Another very simple one, a bit of decoupage with the poinsettia, which are lovely just a shame I did not do more with them lol! It does get better honest!

Sorry, again I have no idea where I got the items from.

To a Special Dad

Morning crafters, hope this finds you all well?

Now this is a good example of how bad I used to be, in fact why have I even posted this one lol! No matting or layering, a sentiment that does not even fit inside the boarder, I haven't a clue why I did not place the boarder to the bottom of the card, I could go on lol!

Needless to say I cannot remember where any of the items come from, obviously the letters and boarder strips are available all over, I think the verse may have come from a little pad of verses I had but cannot remember where I got the decoupage Robin from sorry.
I thought it was a nice sentiment to go with the image!

A Boy and his Dog

Morning crafters, 1st December, 24 days till Christmas Wow! Are we all ready for the Christmas Festivities? I know I'm not lol!

Sincere condolences go out to all those involved in the Incident at Glasgow on Friday, only found out late last night, hope no ones family is involved on here?

Now this may be another Kanban, but I loved this image of the boy and his dog and I remember loving the verse and thought it was very apt to go with the image. This would have been better on some pretty patterned paper rather than just miri card.

I printed the verse onto White vellum and curled the corner before attaching it with brads. the Red bow matched the boys coat and the font in the verse.

Winter Scene

Morning crafters, another little Robin for you today.

Thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday, I really do appreciate them.
Ang: I love Robins, they are such lovely little characters, we too have had a couple of blackbirds in our garden for a number of years, I do feed them bird balls each day but that's all as I have to be careful as I have two cats and my female one is a little hunter with the patience of a saint! Many a summer do I chase her round the garden either freeing a bird or mouse! She knows where they are and waits and waits! The blackbirds bless them warn me if shes too near, they run up and down the fence making such a racket until I go and get her in.
Suzie: Invertage, if I have pronounced it right, has been around a while though I do not see much of it anymore, invertage was yesterdays card where the image goes in, in steps rather than out. I think it can look quite effective depending on the image.

Shirley: I know what you mean, bird food is quite expensive, another reason I only give them bird balls, I buy enough to last a month at a time, I know certain birds eat certain foods but that will be too expensive. I try and help where I can by not putting slug pellets down and my do we have a lot of slugs, I have never seen as many as we have in our garden!

Now for todays card, I am pretty sure these came from Kanban, I used to buy a lot of their items as they were of such good quality, such a shame they are not around anymore.

This one could have done with more matting & layering but at least it shows a bit of the beautiful card I used for the background! I love the Robin on the Post box.

Little Robin

Hi crafters, hope this finds you all well?

Todays card is of a dear little Robin, it was part of a kit I bought years ago where you had some pyramage and some invertage, sorry if I have not spelt/pronounced these correctly! Unfortunately I cannot remember whether they were Crafters Companion or Kanban, at a guess I would go for Kanban but not sure. Same goes for the card.

We have a dear little Robin in our garden that has been visiting for the past 2-3 months now and we do miss him if we don't catch him when he visits, he's such a dear character.

Keep the Home Fires Burning

Another one from Joanna Sheen 'American Frontiers' CD, there really are some lovely images and backing papers on this CD Rom which could be done a lot more attractive now, maybe one day I will redo some.

I thought this one would make an unusual Christmas card, what do you think?

New Home

Hi crafters, thank you for understanding with my post yesterday. No I could not do a 48 hrs day either Ang, sorry Shirley but that is not on my Christmas List but I do know what you meant by it lol!

This image and backing paper were from Joanna Sheen 'American Frontier' CD Rom. I felt this was very fitting for a New Home! The CD has some beautiful images on it and loads for mens cards.

These were the times when I only had the sticky letters and had not learnt what a difference all the matting & layering made lol!

Tribes

Morning Crafters,

You are probably thinking what...well I have come to the point where I either had to stop posting for a while to catch up with some card making or start posting some really old cards, I really do mean old! These were way before I knew of Spellbinders or the Grand Calibar, so I am sorry for what may seem poor quality, I would like to think I have learnt a lot since these were made! I am just so busy at the moment with work and getting ready for Christmas I just have not had the time to make any cards, I started my Daughters card 4 days ago and still have not had the time to finish it, where does the time go?!!!

My apologies to everyone, these will be over the next few weeks so if you do get bored or would rather not see them (though they may give you a laugh lol!) please do say. I will try and remember where I got the images etc from but there won't be any essays as usual, maybe that's a good thing lol!

Now for the first one...

These images were from My Craft Studio 'Four Season' CD Rom,  there were a few American Indian images on there to which I put together to make this card.

I have always been fascinated by the American Indian tribes and their way of life.
They have some lovely stories to tell and not so nice ones.

Poinsettia Peace

Morning Crafters, hope this finds you all well?

Another little card for you today, I started off with the intentions of having a large die cut in the center but then decided to have a poinsettia in the middle instead!

Items Used:

Basic 6x6 White card
Creative Expressions-Foundation card Spring Green & Burgundy
Joanna Sheen-Christmas Patchwork Stamps
Spellbinders Shapeabilities- Layered Poinsettia
Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Crushed Olive, Fired Brick & Black Soot
Cosmic Shimmer-Olympic Gold PVA
Craft Impressions-Christmas Snowflake Sentiments
Couture Creations Embossing Folder-Damask
Grand Calibar

I started by running some Spring Green card through the Grand Calibar using the Damask Embossing Folder I then matted this onto the base card.

Using the back of the Centura card I stamped two of the stamps from J.S. Christmas Patchwork stamps using T.H. Crushed Olive & Fired Brick, I matted this onto some Burgundy card and attached it to the card in the center.

Using more Burgundy card I die cut the Layered Poinsettia and using more of the Spring Green card I stamped my sentiment with Black Soot and die cut the leaf, I placed both the flower and leaf onto the center of the card, then using the Olympic Gold PVA glue I added a few spots in the center of the Poinsettia and there you have your finished card.

Stags Head

Morning Crafters, hope this finds you all well?

I went a bit warmer with todays card (Just for you Ang!)

Items Used:

Basic 6x6 White card
Creative Expressions-Burgundy Foundation Card
Crafters Companion-Centura Pearl Card
Sheena Douglass Little Bit Scenic-Highlands Silhouette
Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements-Majestic Lables Twenty Five
Indigo Blu-Flitter Glue
Cosmic Shimmer Gilded Flakes-Summer Meadow
Tim Holtz Distress Inks-Vintage Photo, Rusty hinge, Black Soot
Colour Box Tuscany-Brown Ink pad
Crafty Impressions-Christmas Snowflake Sentiments

I first matted a piece of Burgundy card onto my base card then working on the back of the Centura card I stamped some branches and thistle from Sheena's Highlands Silhouette stamps using T.H. Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge along with the Brown from the Colurbox Tuscany set. Filling in the space at the bottom I used another stamp from the same set using Black Soot, the stamp showed an island on a lake. I inked round the card using Vintage Photo to bring the colours together.

On more Burgundy card I stamped the Stags head from the Highlands Silhouette set with Flitter Glue and covered with Summer Meadow Gilding Flakes. I die cut this with Majestic Labels Twenty Five and attached it to the card in the center. I know this covers the stamped image but I liked how it made the Stag look like King of the Highlands with it just peeping through the die cut pattern.

In the top right hand corner I stamped my sentiment using Vintage Photo and there you have the finished card.

Let it Snow

Hi crafters, another weekend upon us, don't they come round quick?

Another quicky card for you.

Items Used:

Basic White 6x6 card
Creative Expressions-Foundation Card Blue
Crafters Companion-centura Pearl card
Joanna Sheen-Christmas Patchwork Stamps
Tim Holtz Distress Inks-Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass
Fantastic Ribbons-Dotted Baby Blue Ribbon
Spellbinders Shapeabilities-Petite Labels One
Crafty Impressions-Christmas Snowflake Sentiments

I matted the base card up with some Blue card then with the Centura Pearl card I used the back of it to stamp onto with two of the Patchwork stamps, leaving a White boarder round the edge. I attached the strip of ribbon around the card and matted this onto the base card, I made a bow out of the same ribbon and attached this onto the strip of ribbon.
Using T.H. Distress Inks Peacock Feathers I stamped my sentiment and inked round the edge slightly with Peacock Feathers then die cut with S.B. Petite Labels One, I attached this above the ribbon on the card and there is your finished card.
