Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and Dazzle Snowflake

Hello my crafting friends, I do hope you are all safe and well and ready for the big day. I have decided to make this my last post of 2015 so I can concentrate on last minute preparations before we go to my Daughters for Christmas so may I take this opportunity to WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a  HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I hope to be more organized next year and my new year resolution will be to start making my Christmas cards all year, that way by next Christmas they may be all done lol! Watch this space!!!

Today's post is of one of the few Christmas cards I have managed to make, this one was for my dear friend, I liked it so much I have made a few more like it for my Family members!!!

This was inspired by Sue Wilson's design which you can view HERE, it is very similar but not exact but I loved the design so I went with it.

I matted up my base card with some Blue hammer card. Using the shaving foam technique, which you can find HERE  I made the background, I used two different Blues from my Aquatints paints ( I also made some using two Purples) in my shaving foam, I cut to size and stuck a piece of Double Sided Adhesive sheet over the top and coated it with Micro beads then matted this onto my card. I matted up a small rectangle of Blue card onto a piece of White card and placed this in the centre of the card.

I die cut  some snowflakes out of White card and some Dazzle miri card, mounted them together and attached it in the center of the card. In the middle of the snowflake I added a Blue crystal gem. This finished the card.

Good Friends

Morning crafters, hope this finds you all safe and well. Thank you for coming and visiting me today, I love to have you here and to read all your lovely comments.

Well its only six more weeks to Christmas and I say ...HELP!!! No problems with cards, got all those done but presents, well that's another problem. What to buy for people? Last year it was easy this year No!  I shall just have to keep thinking and looking, I keep telling myself only two more pay checks till Christmas lol!

Anyhow, enough of that, todays post focuses all around the bow! Yes you did read that right the BOW! I recently bought the Bow maker as I am hopeless at making complete bows and I love the double bows though this is not one lol! When it arrived I had to try just a basic bow, it came with two reels of organza ribbon in White and Pink so I did both colours together, seeing as I was so pleased with the result I had to use it on a card! This is the card I have sent to my friend whose Birthday is today, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROS!

I had already done the stenciled coloured background so I used that along with some paper I had found printed off from Tattered Lace papers CD Rom.

The base card I made using two sheets of Blush card, layered it up with the paper and background and attached the bow in the top left corner. I only wanted to add a sentiment so I stamped my sentiment onto some waste card with Victorian Velvet to keep the Pink theme, unusual for me I know as I don't like Pink but remember it was all about the bow lol! I die cut it using the Die-Lectables Baroque Oval and inked through the die, then decided to add another oval behind it so that one I die cut out of the spare paper and placed it behind the sentiment one as a shadow. I attached both of these using foam pads.

Adding some pearls in two corners and a large pearl on the bow, along with a couple of hat pins the card was complete. Dimensions are 7.5" X 7.5".

Items Used:

Creative Expressions Foundation Card Blush
Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmers (several colours mixed)

Creative Expressions Large Fancy Pearls
Creative Expressions Pearl Hat Pins
Tattered Lace CD Rom Papers
Clarity Stamps Stencil
Create and Craft Die-Lectables Baroque Oval

Hobbycutz challenge 62 Ribbons & Pearls

Morning crafters, thank you for visiting me today, much appreciated. May I welcome my new followers its lovely to have you on board.

Today is another Challenge for you from Hobbycutz, this weeks challenge was chosen by our lovely John who chose Ribbons & Pearls.

I hope you choose to join in, do go over to the Hobbycutz Challenge web site at http://hobbycutzchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ and view all the other wonderful creations the team has made.

I have made two cards for this challenge, here is the first:

I started my card off with a piece of White card, I got the Holly leaves embossing folder and brayed over with my versamark ink pad, inserted my White card and embossed it through my machine. I sprinkled Gold embossing powder over the card and heat embossed it. I coloured in the holly leaves and berries using Spectrum Noir pens, wrapped some Gold ribbon round the bottom and matted it onto some Green card.

I folded a sheet of Gold Miri card in half and embossed one side using the same embossing folder, this formed my base card. I attached my embossed gold card in the center. With more White card I stamped my sentiment using Forest Moss ink and die cut using Labels Twenty-Five, whilst still in the die I inked round with Forest Moss in the center and coloured the outside with a gold pen. I then decided to add some Double sided adhesive and cover with Micro beads. I placed this on top of my card then added some Red pearls where my berries were to cover the 'Pearls' bit!

I die cut some holly leaves and placed these on top of the bow along with some more Red Pearls for the berries.   The finished dimensions are 5"X7".

Items Used:

Create and Craft Gold Miri card
Sheena Douglass Festive Embossing Folder Holly
Papermania Embossing Powder Gold
Fantastic Ribbons Gold
Creative Expressions Foundation card Rich Green
Creative Expressions Unmounted Stamps Winter Greetings
Tim Holtz Distress Inks Forest Moss
Gold pen
Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five
Spectrum Noir Pens
Versamark Ink Pad
Flat Red Pearl Beads
Spellbinders Die-lites Holly Sprigs

My second card is:

I started with my basic White card using Centura Pearl. Using more centura Pearl I ran it through the embossing folder Delicate Snowflakes but on the de-bossed side, I ran my brayer over the top with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Enchanted Gold embossing powder, this is the first time I have used this colour and it is so beautiful and sparkly(photo does not do it justice) I shall definitely use it again.

I wrapped some Silky Crush ribbon around it, made a bow and stuck this on to the left side. Using Sue Wilson's Vienna die I cut the middle piece out and stamped my greeting on it with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder, I attached this to the bottom right of the card.

To add my pearls I used Hobby house Pearls and placed one in the center of each of the large snowflakes and smaller ones in the smaller snowflakes. To finish the card I added a large Pearl in the center of the bow.

A very quick and easy card to make. Finished dimensions are 8"X8".

Friends make everyday...

Morning crafters, hope today finds you safe and well. I do appreciate you coming and visiting my blog today and I hope you will visit again. I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know what you think of today's card or any other previous ones.

I have had a very busy week so far, the days are flying by. After a wonderful long weekend with family I had a sad day Tuesday as one of my rabbits had to be put to sleep, she was having difficulty breathing which turned out to be tumors, she was almost 9 years old and I had had her for 8 years, I shall miss her darting out of her hutch each morning for a carrot, she was a rescue rabbit, as you probably can tell by now most of my pets are rescue apart from my 14 year old male cat who I have had since 8 weeks old bless him.

Wednesday I went to the cinema with my son to see X Men, that was very good and it was nice to spend some time with my son, even though he lives with me we don't see each other much as either one of us are working and in the evenings my hubby always has the soaps on and my son hates soaps so he tends to stay in the front room on his computer lol!

Anyway todays card is another quick one for you, I wanted to see what papers I had that would mix together, I eventually chose these colours, they are all from Tattered Lace Magazines.

I matted and layered them onto my basic White card putting White card between two of the layers, with the top layer I die cut the center out with SB Nestabilities Decorative Labels Twenty Two so it showed the White card through it, I raised this up on foam pads. I then die cut the SB Die-lites Medallion Eight out of the same paper and attached that in the center of the White card.

Onto more White card I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expression Unmounted Stamps Classic Sentiments with TH Black Soot, die cut it out with SB Standard Circles Large, inked through the die with TH Peacock Feathers and matted it up in the center of the Medallion die cut.

Out of CE Teal Card I die cut SB Blossoms Four attached together to make a flower and added this onto the corner of the card along with some Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves either side. With a Hobby House Rhinestone Sparklers Ocean Crystal in the center of the flower the card was complete.

Happy Mother's Day

Morning my crafting friends and a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you if you're a Mom.

I made this card yesterday for my Mother -in-Law, late I know but I got there, had no idea what to do so just played and seen what went together, I had the embossed oval frame from Justrite Lace Oval Frame Background Stamp already done so I went from there and matched things up. I decided to put it onto White card so I embossed that with Couture Creations Embossing Folder Walrus & Carpenter, this was extended, inked the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass then made a band out of Tattered Lace paper from their magazine. I attached this over the White card covering the join and matted it onto the base card which was a sheet of Creative Expressions Foundation Card-Blue.

I attached the oval frame that had been stamped with Versamark Pad and heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Seafoam White in the center of my card.  In my stash I found some Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die-lites Floral Corner One that I had cut out of White card so I placed these in opposite corners on the card and in the center of each flower I added a Hobby House Embellishment Ocean Aurora.
The card was finally coming together but I needed the sentiment in the center of the oval, I could have written it but decided to print one on the PC using more CE Blue card and again stamped over this with the Justrite Oval stamp as before then cut out the oval in the center. As you can see I didn't quite get my sentiment in the middle! I felt this looked a bit plain as it was so I put it through my E Bosser embossing it with Clarity Tangle Stencil, I actually think this makes it look more like an Easter Egg now Lol!!! I glued this on top of the previous Oval then added a Green bow, this ribbon were the ties you sometimes get in tops to hang them up on, I cut them out and use the ribbon! In the middle of this I added another Hobby House gem and my card was complete. The Photograph does not do it justice as you cannot see the embossing, it is all slightly darker, I took it in front of a lamp hence why it is so light!

Thank you for looking, I hope you all have a great day, Jacquie xxx
