Gold Seasons Greetings

Morning my crafting friends, hope today finds you all safe and well.  So glad you could visit me today it is much appreciated.

I do apologize for the short posts at present. having a wonderful time in France its great to see my Sister again.

Todays post is another Christmas card, I just wanted it in Ivory & Gold so I folded a sheet of A4 Gold card in half to make the basic card, using a sheet of Ivory card I die cut the circle from the Calabria and a curved boarder at the bottom, I trimmed the card to fit and matted this on top of the Gold card, I then die cut the Calabria again but just placed the frame part on top of the circle.

I made a Poinsettia flower out of the Ivory card and the Leaf out of Gold card, made up the flower and put a Gold brad through the center, I attached this to the card as seen.

Above the curve I stamped my sentiment but unfortunately this smudged so I did it again on Ivory card and cut it out using the curved boarders and placed this on top, I would have preferred the sentiment just stamped straight onto the card but once smudged there is nothing you can do except cover it up of throw it away! We crafters don't throw anything away lol!

On the inside I die cut a small circle from Grand decorative Circles and placed tin the center for a verse or sentiment to be added.

Christmas Window

 Morning crafters, hope today finds you all well, another card using the same stamp as Thursday.


Having a wonderful time in France, managing to avoid the rain so far lol! Sorry have not had time to comment on peoples posts, but then its not letting me either but I can view them so I do have a quick look before we call it a night, loved all your creations so far. I will catch up with everyone on my return.

I matted some Spring Green Card onto my basic White card then using some Kraft card I stamped my image in the center and cut round three sides to form a window. It was only then I decided to emboss the card  to make it look like the outside wall of a window, I had not got a brick pattern folder so used the snowfall one instead to look like pebble dash!!!



In the opening of the window  on the Green card I stamped the German version of O Christmas Tree.





On the inside I die cut some ovals out of Kraft card and Green card to stamp the English version of O Christmas Tree.

These cards are for the Language Teachers at our school so I thought they might appreciate something different!

O Christmas Tree & Robin

I am making the next few scheduled posts quite short so I do apologize. I matted and layered the blush card onto the White card. On the Coconut card I stamped my image and coloured it in then matted this on top of the Blush card.

I die cut one of Spellbinders Postage stamp dies in Blush to place inside for a verse or sentiment.

O' Tannenbaum

Morning my crafting friends, my oh my August already, just don't know where the time goes, is it me or do the years seem to go quicker? Perhaps its like they do as we get older!!!

I may be off for a while as I am going away soon, taking my son with me to my sisters in France, he has had a rough two years so the break will do him good. Leaving hubby at home to look after all the animals lol! Bless him hes got his parents house to look after too as they go away the same time! I think this will be one time he will be glad to see me back lol! Will try and get some posts scheduled but can't promise, I will check back with you all on my return if I can't get on Big Sis computer lol!

I have always liked the O' Christmas Tree hymn, especially in German, so when I saw Clarity Stamps had it in English and German I just had to get the stamps! There's me saying no more spending! I had already ordered the Tree die from Crafters Companion (would have liked them all but that would be greedy lol!) so how fitting I thought to put the two together! Well I was hoping the verse would fit inside the Tree cut out but sadly not quite! Still, I tried, I am usually used to either putting a insert inside for the verse or covering the inside with paper or card however, you can't do it with these as obviously you would cover the die cuts on the front, you could just cover the back. Anyhow, this was my second attempt, the first I did in White and tried to rub Distress ink over the top of the embossing but made a nice mess, ( the little tree on the front is from that card! )the embossing is not as deep as I had hoped so next time I will try spritzing it with water first. For this one I just sanded the embossing on the front so you got some detail then added a little glitter to the snowflakes.

The verse I put onto Vellum and heat embossed with White embossing powder, was not sure whether you would be able to read the verse but its not too bad. I chose a Red Rust coloured vellum to set off the Green card, these cards are nice that you get the little die cut from the middle so the little tree can sit on the front or be used on another card, great  with a  few of them with Reindeer's in front, like a forest!! They make nice quick cards.

Hobbycutz Challenge 59 Sketch

Morning my crafting friends, todays card is my second post for Hobbycutz DT, Erin chose the theme by interpreting a 'Sketch'. Aurora wings are the lovely sponsors.

 This is the sketch we had to go by...

 Here is my take on it...

I started with a basic 6" X 6" blank card and covered the front with one of the beautiful papers from First Editions.  I added a piece of Lace Ribbon around the center before matting it onto the card. As most of the papers in this pad are Blue & Green I decided to keep to these colours so using the pad again I chose a Blue sheet and added a square diagonally in the center, unfortunately you cannot see this now as it is covered, you may see a peek at the top of the image or under the Blue flower! Using another sheet I cut two squares out  with SB Captivating squares and placed these in opposite corners.

The beautiful image is Gardenia from Aurora Wings our sponsors, I coloured this with Promarkers & Spectrum Noirs, I did wish to stick to Blue & Green but I felt the roses would look better in bright colours to stand out so I went for Pink & Yellow! I added some glitter round the edge of the Pink Roses but the photo does not pick this up, I am sure the image is supposed to be the other way round so she is upside down but I liked it this way! Once finished I die cut the image out with SB Captivating Squares  and placed it in the top right corner of my card.

Using Tattered Lace lavish Blooms I cut the Lily out of White card, cut down the center of each petal and coloured the edge Pink and I cut the Poppy out of some of the Blue paper from the pad, I added glitter round the edge of each of these flowers too. I die cut the leaves out of a Green sheet from the pad adding some darker Green centers of the leaves to make the flowers stand out a bit more. Now I know the sketch shows only two flowers but I like the 'Rule of Three' so I added three flowers!

Finally the sketch showed four dangling items, I was not sure what I was going to use for this, I thought of beads at first but they were too big so then I found these buttons that matched the colour of my theme and were the shape of flowers, I could easily attach these with some jump rings so I placed these in the top corner as seen.

I feel I have matched the sketch all be it a little bit 'busy', possibly would have been better on a larger card so it was all spaced out a bit more as there was rather a lot to fit on but I am happy with it lol!
