Friends like you are a Blessing

Morning my crafting friends, thank you for visiting me today it is much appreciated, please do leave a comment so I know you have been.

Now today is a Birthday of a Special Friend, none other than Sheena Douglass so HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEENA!

This was the card I made especially for Sheena, I decided not to go the messy root but for a more Vintage one lol!

I had some pretty papers in my stash so I decided to use these, as the three papers I chose were of Pink & Green I kept the these colours.

I cut each sheet to size, distressed the edges of all three papers and inked around each one with coordinating Tim Holtz Distress Inks Victorian Velvet & Bundled Sage. I placed the Green paper onto my base card, this had a lovely script printed on it which is not that noticeable sorry! On top of this I placed the Wild Rose Hip paper with Foam Tape at an angle for interest.

The top Pink paper had a Bird cage with Wild Roses at the bottom so I kept these, as I had two sheets of each paper I cut out the bird cage from the other sheet and attached it on top of this one but slightly bowed. I rolled over the top corner and inked the underside with Victorian Velvet, underneath this I added some lovely Vintage Lace, I had bought from my local craft shop, across the paper and secured it on the back with Red Tape. I put Foam Tape on the back but leaving a little gap where the turned corner was.

I coloured some Cream Organza ribbon with Bundled Sage and left to dry. Once dry I made it into a fussy bow and attached it onto the paper along with three Green Paper Roses.

Above the lace ribbon I stamped a sentiment from Crafters Companion Kimono Lotus Flower and two little birds from Crafters Companion Kimono Butterfly Silk with Black Stazon.

I made a tag by cutting some Kraft Card to a tag shape, I covered it with some of the off cut from the Green paper, I stamped the bird from Crafters Companion Kimono Porcelain with Black Stazon then coloured it using Aquatint markers.

The words I typed up on my PC cut out and inked round the edge with Victorian Velvet and placed them on the tag as seen. I made a hole at the top and put a thin pieced of Pink Ribbon through it. This little tag then fits perfectly in the gap at the top of the card.

I hope you like my Vintage style card and thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx
