Birthday Wishes to You

Hello my crafting friends good to have you visit me again today, I know I have been very absent I just dont know where the time goes so to stop myself stressing trying to get cards on here 2 or 3 times a week (as I used to!) I am now resulting in getting a card on here whenever I can so I really apologize for the inconvenience and lack of commenting on others posts but unfortunately, for the moment, this is a decision I have had to make, I do not in any way wish to give up my blog, its one of the few things that keep me connected to all you wonderful crafters out there and even though I may not comment I still look in to see what you have created. There will be times when I have loads on here usually when Sheena has something new out lol! Summer hols are coming up so hopefully I will be able to make some more creations then. I thank you all for your friendship and understanding at this time.

Now todays card is one I made for a work colleague who recently turned 50, I really did not wish to make it but was asked by other colleagues, however the recipient is still to thank us for her gifts let alone the card so I definitely wont be doing one again for her!!!

I matted the base card up with some Lilac card and then matted that up with some of Sara Davies (Crafters Companion) patterned Silver foiled card. I wrapped some Purple Butterfly ribbon around the center then sorted some die cuts out, the center rectangle is one of Tonics Classic Quatrefoil Patterned Panels, the two outer doily ones are Desire Create-a-Card Garden Party, I trimmed these down slightly to fit on the card and under the edge of the other panel. In the center I stamped my sentiment from Tonic Live Laugh Love Single Banner die and matted it onto Lilac card. I die cut tow Butterflies from the Crafters Companion Kimono Range and placed these on the card as seen, there you have the finished card.

Thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx

  1. Hi Jacquie, very pretty card, love the different background and nice butterflies. Don't you just hate it when people do not appreciate the time and effort you put into creating a card. Never mind though we appreciate you. Hugs Jennifer xx

  2. Gorgeous card and I agree that we only make that particular person one card if they can't be bothered to appreciate it Please please do not stress about blogging/commenting etc we all understand that card making is a hobby for most of us and other things take priority

  3. A lovely card, even if the recipient didn't have the grace to say so! Don't worry about blogging, just do what you can. Hugs, Cara x

  4. A stunning card Jacquie, a frilly masterpiece!! I stopped mailing cards to my local friends for exactly this reason, they never took time to thank you. I would always have to ask 'hey did you get my card' and then I would have to listen to the excuses 'oh yeah, I meant to call, so busy'. Not to be rude, but WTF!! ANYHOW...

Try not to stress, relax and enjoy your summer my friend! hugs :)

  5. Gorgeous card Jacquie. I am very picky about whom I give my cards to. Those who do not have the good manners to say Thank You do not get another card.

  6. Hi jacquie, it's very frustrating when you don't get thanks or feedback for a card that has taken some time to make....it makes you feel like not making any for them again. Beautiful card.....I would have been delighted to receive. Janice xx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com

  7. Hi Jacquie
I have a friend who isn't fussed about all this handmade card mularky but I know she would be miffed if I sent her a shop bought card!
How rude not to thank you all for gifts as well.
It's a fab card Jacquie and deserves to be appreciated.
Don't worry about blogging chuck. I'm certainly aware that real life has a nasty habit of interfering with it lol!
