Someone Very Special

Hello my crafting friends, I am back, for now at least lol! I am still off work but am starting to get round a bit more, my GP has put a request in for me to have an appointment at the Orthopedics as urgent so we wait to see how quick that comes, hopefully they will do a scan to see what is going on but I don't hold my breath for that one! I am taking it easy being very careful with what I do but at least I am managing without too many pain killers now as they just send me to sleep! Thank you all so very much for the fabulous comments I received, they are all appreciated very much, you are all such a fabulous 'family' to have around.

Now this next card I post was done a while back, by that I mean a few weeks but I have not got round to putting it on here so I may as well now until I can get to crafting again.

This is a very simple card I went for the background rather than anything else, inking an A4 sheet of card using different colour distress inks then spraying with Gold & Blue spray inks, I think the fact it was on the 'leather look' card adds interest to the background. I love doing these type of backgrounds lately for my cards.

So I did not deter from the background I just added a single Gold Sweet Pea leaf and a small sentiment in the top corner.

For the inside I placed another piece of the same patterned card and placed a piece of White card over the top to write on.

Items Used:

Printable Heaven 'Leather Look' Cream Card
Tim Holtz Distress Inks Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage, Shaded Lilac and Abandoned Coral
Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist Egyptian Blue & Marigold
Tattered Lace die (Free with magazine) Sweet Pea
Gold Miri Card
Sentiment old Hunkydory
White card

Thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx

  1. It's nice to see you back Jacquie, I hope that you don't have to wait too long for your scan and that the pain eases soon.
Your card is gorgeous, the colours are so beautiful.
    Take care, hugs Sue xx

  2. Morning Jacquie, sorry to hear that you are not feeling better yet. Hope the pain goes soon and that you have your scan soon. Love the background on this card. It seems to be the in thing at the moment as I've done a card with a similar background recently, and a few of my crafting friends are also doing similar cards. Janice xxx

  6. Hi Jacquie
Nice to have you back chuck. Careful with those painkillers as sometimes we end up doing more than we should.
Ah well, if its urgent, you may get an appointment this year lol!

    You take it steady gal!
    Best wishes.

  7. Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. I hope you get a speedy appointment and that you get some answers as to what is going on, and some options to resolve it.
The card is beautiful in its simplicity.

  8. Your card is very elegant and beautiful, Jacquie. I agree with you that the background is so beautiful by itself that it only required minimal embellies. Thank you for joining us in the Through The Craft Room Door challenge this week.

  9. Hello Jaccquie,
I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Trouble with having a bad back is that no one can see it, like if you had a broken arm or leg.
    Love today's card, very effective.
    Maureen xx

  10. Hi Jacquie - glad you are feeling better. Gorgeous card.

  11. I love the background Maybe it's because of the leather look or maybe not Love the simplicity of that die Go careful as others have already said when the pain killers kick in we feel we're able to do more

  12. This is so beautiful Jacquie! Love the gorgeous colours of your background ... the misting really makes it flow. And the leather look paper gives it lots of visual texture. Keeping your card CAS with the one gold leave sprig and small sentiment, really lets the beautiful background show through. Great card! Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers. xx
