Figgy Pudding Lane

Morning my crafting friends, hope this day finds you well? Sorry I have not posted of late I have been busy catching up with chores on my return from my hols and not had much time to craft, anyhow I did manage to do this one in-between chores lol!

I thought it was about time I used my folders from Sheena Douglass so I brayed the folder on the inside with Versamark Ink Pad, placed my card inside the folder and put it through the E Bosser. I then covered it with White embossing powder and heat embossed it, this covered the walls of the buildings, I rubbed some Black ink over the embossed areas to show up the outline of the buildings.

I applied some Distress Inks, Pumice Stone first followed by Vintage Photo over the buildings I felt this gave an aged look to some of the walls, I painted in the beams using Black Soot, the windows using Squeezed Lemonade and signs with Vintage Photo, Fired Brick & Chipped Sapphire. The sky I coloured using Chipped Sapphire.

I placed a piece of snow covered Acetate over the image and made a frame for the card. Once stuck together I attached this to the front of a 5"X7" card.

I stamped my sentiment onto some White card and matted it onto some Gold card, making it a ribbon and attached it to the front of the card. I added a snowflake on top of this as well as in the upper corners to take the bareness away from the edges. There you have the finished card.

I have tried various, but similar ways of using this folder, will show these at a later date. Not your usual Christmas card but different!

Thinking of You Flourish

Morning my crafting friends, thank you for joining me here again today I do appreciate it.

I have decided to keep my posts a bit more brief as it takes up so much time explaining what I have done it leaves little time to craft what with work, house and pets, if you know what I mean so please do ask if you ever want to know more detail, this way I may manage to get a few more cards done lol!

Thank you for all your wonderful comments for my last post.
Hazel & Suzie-thank you for your kind comments on my role as an LSA, much appreciated, its not always easy and we are sometimes used as doormats but then there are sometimes rewards such as appreciation from some kids.
Janice- You must get that Cd out lol!  Wonderful images on there.
Ang-Safari ooohh lucky you, I have always wanted to go on one of those, would love to stay in those huts high up where the Elephants come of an evening, I would never go to bed lol!

Now for todays card...

This card was made using scraps out of my scrap box apart from the Base card which was a sheet of Kraft card! Once I was happy with the colour of card it was quite a quick one to make.

Elephant Family

Morning crafters, hope this finds you all well?

A rather bright card for you today, the colours were chosen from the image so my apologies if its a bit too bright for some of you lol!

I started with a sheet of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Blue Pastel card and folded it in half to make a Landscape card. Onto this I matted a piece of Create and Craft Kraft card.

I felt I matched up the Yellow in the image (Card Creations CD Rom "Brush Strokes in the Wild") with this Lidls Bright Yellow card, I cut it to size then ran it through the E Bosser with Sheen Douglass Marching Elephants Embossing Folder, I rubbed Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax Cast Bronze over the raised Elephants, rounded the corners then matted it onto my card.

I formatted the image on my computer to give it a Black frame then matted and layered onto Yellow and Blue card before attaching it onto my card at an angle as seen.

For the sentiment (CE Kind Thoughts) I stamped with TH Vintage Photo onto Yellow card then die cut using SB Standard Circles Large, I mounted it onto some CC Centura Blue Pastel card also die cut with SB Standard Circles Large then attached it to the card in the bottom right corner.

There you have the finished card.

Friends...

Morning my crafting friends, hope this finds you all safe and well?  Thank you for visiting my post today I do appreciate it, I love to read all your comments whatever they may be lol!

Today is my 9th Wedding Anniversary so Happy Anniversary to my Hubby Ian, this is not his card as at time of scheduling this I had not even made one whoops! Better get a move on!

I am still playing with Sheena Douglass Taste of India at the moment as you can tell lol! I loved this stamp SD Taste of India Henna Mango the first time I saw it, there is so much you can do with it but I just wanted to keep it simple for now. I inked some card up with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Squeezed Lemonade, Fired Brick and Peacock Feathers then stamped the Henna mango with my Versamark Ink Pad and heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Black Sparkle, I rubbed round the edge of the card with TH Black Soot and painted the design in with TH Fired Brick and Crushed Olives, I could have gone further but did not want to ruin it. I matted this onto Creative Expressions Foundation Card Burgundy then onto CC Kraft card. I added the sentiment from CE Unmounted Stamps Classic Sentiments using TH Black Soot.

Using more Burgundy card I stamped the boarder from SD T of I Mandala stamp set with Versamark Ink Pad then heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Gold, I cut these out and attached them to the edge of the card as seen. It wasn't until I stuck them down I realized that I should have stamped a longer piece of card so I could have line up the two sides so they matched, next time...!

There you have your finished card, dimensions 5" X 7"

Thank you for looking, now I had better go and make Hubby a card, Jacquie xxx

Peace from Within

Morning crafters, Happy Bank Holiday Monday, hope this finds you all safe and well. many thanks for all your lovely comments for my post on Sunday its much appreciated.

On the Dog v Cats front my Male cat Leo (who is normally the big wimp) has got very brave and now walks past the dog, as long as we are there he knows she's not going to hurt him, not that she would anyway, however, my Female cat Mia is still terrified of her which is surprising as she was the first to come back in with us but no, she will not walk past her even if she's lying down, yesterday I thought I would pick her up and introduce them ha ha! wrong idea, Mia hissed and spat and went for Keala (Dog), she was not happy! Guess it will take her a little longer lol! At least it has stopped her from bullying Leo for a while!
Now today's post I have been playing with Sheena Douglass Taste of India again, I thought I would use some CC Kraft card as I had not used any yet! Onto this I matted some Black card, I wanted to stamp and paint with Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmers Iridescent Mica Pigments so decided on using Black card as it shows the colours up more so kept to two colour scheme as far as card was concerned.

Using more Kraft card I stamped around the edge with SD Taste of India Rubber Stamp-Henna using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Peacock Feathers and Crushed Olives then matted this onto the card.

As I said earlier I wanted to stamp onto the Black card but silly me went and embossed it first instead of after with SD Embossing Folder Taste of India - Henna so I decided to paint the embossed flower and leaves instead. Once painted I rubbed over some Creative Expression Metallic Gilding Wax - Cast Bronze, I had no Gold lol! I embossed a piece of Black card using the same embossing folder just just emboss the flower, painted it again the same as before then added it on top of the main flower raised up.

I tied some Orange Ribbon from Beautiful4crafts.co.uk around the right side of the card and matted this onto my card, I attached a bow out of the same ribbon then stamped my sentiment from SD T.of I - Mandala onto Kraft card, die cut with SB Fancy Framed Tags Two, I inked through the die with TH Dried Marmalade and attached it to the card as seen.

To finish the card off I added some Queen & Co Twinkle Goosebumps Orange 'Twinkle' Gems to the top right corner and a Kaisercraft Sparklets Gem - Saffron on top of the bow.

Tiger & The Temple + Blog Candy Winner

Morning crafters, hope this finds you all well this Bank Holiday weekend? Sorry there have been no posts of late I just do not seem to have been able to find time this week, need to get myself more organized I think lol! Anyway I know you are all waiting to find out who has won those wonderful set of Stamps from Creative Expressions so the winner is...

MRS DUCK!

was pulled out by my Son, he laughed and said 'Ace' when he saw your name lol!

Big Congratulations to you Ang, if you e-mail me your details I will get them in the post to you on Tuesday.
Sorry to everyone else who entered and I would like to say many thanks for entering, maybe next time...

Now todays card is one using Sheena Douglass Taste of India Embossing Folders and stamps. I folded an A4 sheet of card in half to form the base card, matted and layered up with more card. Using the back of some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl card I embossed it with Sheena Douglass Taste of India Indian Arches on the deboss side then inked it with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo then matted this onto my card.

On More CC Centura Pearl Card I stamped the Sheena Douglass Taste of India Tiger Tiger with my Versamark Ink Pad and heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Black Sparkle then inked the Tiger with TH Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marmalade, I think I over did it a little as the stomach area should have been White! I cut it out and attached it in the front of the arches. I could have left it like this but I wanted to add some leaves to make it look more Jungley! I embossed three sheets of Green card (Creative Expressions and Lidls)with SD Taste of India Embossing Folder Jungle Leaves and cut some of the smaller ones out, I attached these to the card as seen, I could have added more around the bottom but that would have covered too much of the arches up so I left it.

There you have the finished card, I will maybe add a sentiment at a later date.

On Your Christening

Morning my crafting friends, hope you are all well, thank you for your visit today I do appreciate it, its always nice to read your comments for my post and I love to view and comment on your posts too, so if you are new please do leave a link to your blog so I am able to return the favour.

Now today's card is the second of the two Christening cards I made for one of my work colleagues, her two Grandsons, George and Alfie get christened on Sunday and she wanted similar cards with the same verse, you can view the first card on Saturdays post, I have added a little image of the update of it at the bottom of this post now it has been personalized.

I have made the card in exactly the same way, two A5 cards joined together by the backs of the card, again I have used Creative Expressions Foundation card for the base card, Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Paper for the front that has been embossed with Sheena Douglass Embossing Folder Indian Lattice. I matted and layered first some more CE Blue card followed by four squares of Hunkydory Blue Checked card. I printed off the internet a couple of images of a tractor and some boats, apparently these are George's (aged 2)favourites and die cut them out with SB Gold Labels Four, I embossed with the same die using CE Blue card, cut it out and used it as the backing layer for the images both on the front and inside. Using the same dies again I die cut more Blue card and die cut the computer printed sentiment on White card and inked round with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. Both the Tractor and sentiment I attached to the front of the card on top of the checked squares as seen.

I bought some Papermania Mini Bunting that comes in different colours, attached the Blue bunting to some Blue twine then added the letters which had been die cut from Tattered Lace Alphabet die with White card, then hung them on the card as seen.

On the inside fold of the card I matted up more of the embossed CC Centura Paper with more of the Hunkydory Checked card, I attached the Boats image in the center then added on two of the corners from the corner die from Sue Wilson Spanish Collection Boarder, Corner & Tags that had been die cut with CC Centura Pearl White card.

On the inside I attached the embossed image from Sheena Douglass Ancient Arches Embossing Folder and on the inside right added the chosen verse that I edged with some Papermania Blue ribbon.

This then completed the card.

As you can see by the image of the first card I just added the name Archie again using bunting on the corner with the computer printed sentiment on the bottom, die cut with SB Twisted Metal & Tags on White card with Blue card underneath to act as a shadow. This too was inked with TH Tumbled Glass.

To finish both cards I added some Creative Expressions Self Adhesive Pearls onto the Lattice work on the first card and Hobby House Pearls on this card.

Not the 'normal' Christening cards but I hope she likes them.

Babies Christening

Morning Crafters, hope this finds you all safe and well.

I am glad to report that the new addition Keala is settling in well and my two cats are still looking worried! The female has got a little closer to the door but the Male wont come out of the front room lol!

Today's card is one of two Christening cards I have been asked to make for a woman at work whose two Grandsons are being Christened next week, they will both be personalized on the front.

I started with two sheets of Creative Expressions Foundation card Light Blue, folded each in half then glued two sides together to form the base.

On the two fronts I matted up with some Crafters Companion White Centura Pearl Card that had been embossed with Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Garden Lattice Embossing Folder, followed by some Blue checked card I had from Hunkydory a while back. I added a little Creative Expressions Scalloped Edge Lace over the check card before matting it onto the White card.

I found some baby images on the net to use on the card, (I just wanted hands and feet), using more CE Blue Card with SB Twisted Metal and Tags to frame the image and add the embellishments on the corners and under the second image on the inside.

Seeing as the card opened like a book I wanted to add something in the middle but not another image so I decided to Emboss some CC Centura Pearl Card with Sheena Douglass Embossing Folder Ancient Arches and attached this to the inside of the card, I printed out a verse and attached that to the back of the second opening of the card, hope this all makes sense? Sorry if you are unable to clearly see the embossed Arches on the inside, its not a very good photo!

Apart from adding the names on the front the card was complete.

Thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx

Happy Blossom Birthday!

Morning crafters hope this finds you all safe and well.

I have been a naughty girl again and done my take on a Sue Wilson card, I loved the card she did on the Tool Shed the other week so thought I would have a go myself, although I have not used the same inks or stamps the idea was the same and seeing as I liked the finished product I thought I would show it to you.

My base card is 6" X 6" White card, matted up with some Create and Craft Pink Pearlescent card.

Using a sheet of cheap White card I dabbed various colours of Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Crushed Olives, Peacock Feathers, Victorian Velvet and Dried Marmalade,  I did not blend the colours just dabbed them on with the TH Distress Ink Tool.

I chose my stamp-Sheena Douglass Little Bit Oriental Sakura and inked it up with my Versamark. I stamped it three times and heat embossed with Papermania White Embossing Powder, inked up the stamp again with my versamark and stamped another three times in between the previous stamps but used Papermania Clear Embossing Powder on these.

I placed some TH Victorian Velvet on my glass mat and painted in the center of the White embossed flowers to add a touch of colour.

Using the Justrite Fancy Sentiment stamps I stamped my sentiment onto White Vellum again using my versamark and heat embossed with the White embossing powder, I cut it down to size as a banner and attached it under a bow I made out of thin Pink Ribbon (Own Stash).

I made several blossom flowers out of SB Cherry Blossom using Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card and Create and Craft Pearlescent Pink card, inked the centers with TH Victorian Velvet, glued together and placed in the center of the bow as seen.

There you have the finished card, hope you like it?

Next post Tuesday.
