Dragonfly Panel

Morning my crafting friends, welcome to my blog today, I do hope you enjoy your visit and come back again.

Today's post features the free die from one  of the Tattered Lace Magazines, I loved this one with the Dragonfly and felt it had to be made as a feature on the front of my card. I coloured it in with Distress Inks, not being really neat as you can tell! Once I was happy with the colour I inked it up with my Versamark Glue Pad and heat embossed it three times with Clear embossing powder. This gave it a lovely glossy look, unfortunately it does not show up on the photos. I wanted to put a frame around it but as I have no dies that cut a frame as yet I tried to cut one myself, as you can see its not perfect! I embossed a sheet of White card and cut it into two pieces, one I placed behind the Dragonfly panel the other I kept for the base.

For the base card I used Satin card and matted this up with the cut embossed card, then matted and layered up more Satin card and White card, attached some orange organza ribbon round the edge and added the panel on the other side as seen. I then attached these to the base card.

I added a bow using the same ribbon and a Sparklet gem finished off the card. I have not added a sentiment until it is needed.

Henna Mango Birthday!

Hi there my crafting friends, I know I am early but I have decided to change the post I did have scheduled so I could enter this card into http://happylittlestampers.blogspot.ca/2015/02/hls-february-cas-challenge.html, the post is only delayed by a couple of days so I am sure none of you would mind.

I love these little CAS cards and I am guilty of not doing a lot of them so I decided to give it a go.

I folded an A4 sheet of White card in half to make an A5 card then cut that in half again to give me an A6 card for my base.

Using another piece of White card I adhered my mask on top with masking tape and spread some paste over the top, not completely covering the mask as I only wanted a small section, I then left that to dry overnight.

I originally was going to leave the pasted leaves White but then decided to add just a spot of colour so I stenciled over the leaves with Crushed Olive distress ink then attached this to my base card.

On more White card I stamped the Henna Mango and painted it in using Mica Pigments. When finished and dry I cut round the Henna Mango but chopped off the trailing branches as they were too thin to cut round.

Using my Versamark Ink Pad I inked all over the design and heat embossed it three times with Clear Embossing Powder, this gave a nice glaze appearance.

I placed this in the center of my card then along the bottom I stamped my sentiment using Crushed Olive again.

There you have my finished card. Dimension are roughly 4.2" X  6".

Speedy Recovery

Morning my crafting friends hope this Monday morning finds you all safe and well? Lots of hugs to those who may not be well.

Today's post is in fact a card I made for my MIL as she had a operation on Friday so she will be in hospital for a few days, so hopefully she will soon be on the mend.

I started with my basic 6" X 6"White card and matted this up with more White card that I had pierced around the edge.

I searched through my stash to find a piece of pretty paper when I came across this one, its one of my favourites and that is why it has not been used before lol! Don't we all keep things we don't want to use? Silly really as I am sure this came off one of my CD Roms though which one I haven't a clue!!! I cut it to size and covered it with an adhesive sheet then coated it with Micro beads, I have not used these for what seems like ages, I remember Sue Wilson's early shows she always used them before she bought out the Diamond Snow etc.! I liked the texture and coverage this gave to the paper, I then attached this to the front of my card.

For my topper I die cut one of the dies from Captivating Squares four times and matted and layered them up turning each one round until it almost made a circle, I loved the look of this. Using the smaller of the dies I die cut my sentiment out of Blush card and arranged it in the center, I thought the Blush card would pick up some of the Pink flowers from the paper. I then added some White PVA glue dots around the fancy corners of the die cuts, letting it dry before attaching it to the front of my card.

I did not feel the front needed anything else so on the inside I placed a piece of Pink Pearlescent card on the right hand side with my printed verse on top, on the left hand side I attached the off cut from the piece of paper that had not been micro beaded.
The last photo shows the card at an angle to try and pick up the light on the micro beads

Negative Love

Morning my crafting friends, another weekend is upon us and I cannot believe half term is over already, time flies when you are having fun that's for sure.

May I thank each and everyone of you for all your lovely comments whether you are a follower of my blog or not its always lovely to hear from you, I much appreciate all your comments and hope you come back to visit again.

Now Wendy has been showing us all her beautiful dies of late and Ang let us know how many die sets she had so that got me to wondering how many I had, my oh my was I shocked. I have 129 die sets which total 528 dies in all!!! I would never had believed I had that many, I have so many I have not used in a while either, shame on me and I want to add more lol! There are lots of dies I could really use like the ones you can make frames with, basic Ovals and Square dies to make matting and layering a lot easier and accurate! I hate to think what the total cost of these are, maybe I should look in getting them insured lol!!! I don't think I will start what Wendy has done and show a different die each day as I would never get through them, maybe when the summer holidays start as I have 6 weeks then lol! I will seriously have to start using some of my older dies.

Today's post is inspired by one of Sue Wilson's cards from one of her shows the other week when she used the negative from one of her Leaf dies on the front of a card, so I have done the same, using the negative from a leaf die.

I started with my base card and matted and layered it up with some Gold Satin card and a piece of card stenciled with a leaf mask using Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Mica Pigments.

On top of this I layered the Vienna die cut using White card.

With a piece of Off White card I die cut the Faux Quilled Leaves and with the negative piece I backed it using a piece of embossed card and attached it over the top of the Vienna die cut.

For my sentiment I stamped onto more of the Off White card, cut it into a banner and matted it onto a piece of Gold Satin Card, I cut that into a banner also then attached it at the top of my card as seen.

There you have the finished card.

Peony Collage

Morning my crafting friends, hope today finds you all safe and well, lots of hugs to those who may not be.

I keep wondering how many dies I have in my stash as my friend Wendy is doing a die on her blog everyday http://spanishcrafter.blogspot.co.uk/ do go and take a look, each time I look at her wonderful creations I think I must count mine and never have so I will count them and let you know on Saturdays post.

Today's post is one I made up to use some off cuts of paper I had left and I thought these two of roses went together so I wrapped a strip of lace ribbon around them then matted them onto a piece of Dusky Pink Satin card and layered this onto my 6" X 6" base White card.

I stamped my topper on some White card and coloured it in with Promarkers, inked the edge with the same Pink that I coloured the peony in then went round the edge with a Glue pen and dipped the edges into Diamond Snow. I placed this on the card at an angle.

I die cut the swirly frame from Twisted Metals and Accents, cut it in half and wrapped that over two corners of the image.

There you have the finished card. It was quite a quick make that are very handy at times!
