Hobbycutz challenge 62 Ribbons & Pearls

Morning crafters, thank you for visiting me today, much appreciated. May I welcome my new followers its lovely to have you on board.

Today is another Challenge for you from Hobbycutz, this weeks challenge was chosen by our lovely John who chose Ribbons & Pearls.

I hope you choose to join in, do go over to the Hobbycutz Challenge web site at http://hobbycutzchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ and view all the other wonderful creations the team has made.

I have made two cards for this challenge, here is the first:

I started my card off with a piece of White card, I got the Holly leaves embossing folder and brayed over with my versamark ink pad, inserted my White card and embossed it through my machine. I sprinkled Gold embossing powder over the card and heat embossed it. I coloured in the holly leaves and berries using Spectrum Noir pens, wrapped some Gold ribbon round the bottom and matted it onto some Green card.

I folded a sheet of Gold Miri card in half and embossed one side using the same embossing folder, this formed my base card. I attached my embossed gold card in the center. With more White card I stamped my sentiment using Forest Moss ink and die cut using Labels Twenty-Five, whilst still in the die I inked round with Forest Moss in the center and coloured the outside with a gold pen. I then decided to add some Double sided adhesive and cover with Micro beads. I placed this on top of my card then added some Red pearls where my berries were to cover the 'Pearls' bit!

I die cut some holly leaves and placed these on top of the bow along with some more Red Pearls for the berries.   The finished dimensions are 5"X7".

Items Used:

Create and Craft Gold Miri card
Sheena Douglass Festive Embossing Folder Holly

My second card is:

I started with my basic White card using Centura Pearl. Using more centura Pearl I ran it through the embossing folder Delicate Snowflakes but on the de-bossed side, I ran my brayer over the top with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Enchanted Gold embossing powder, this is the first time I have used this colour and it is so beautiful and sparkly(photo does not do it justice) I shall definitely use it again.

I wrapped some Silky Crush ribbon around it, made a bow and stuck this on to the left side. Using Sue Wilson's Vienna die I cut the middle piece out and stamped my greeting on it with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder, I attached this to the bottom right of the card.

To add my pearls I used Hobby house Pearls and placed one in the center of each of the large snowflakes and smaller ones in the smaller snowflakes. To finish the card I added a large Pearl in the center of the bow.

A very quick and easy card to make. Finished dimensions are 8"X8".

Stags Head

Morning my crafting friends, now I know todays heading may make you think I was meeting up at the Pub but sadly not lol! But the center piece to my card today is this lovely stencil of a Stags head!

I loved this stencil the moment I saw it, so much detail. I did stencil it on White card at first but got a little ink in the wrong place so if I can rescue it I will show that one at a later date, however, I decided to stencil this one onto Kraft card to see how it turned out.

I inked through the stencil with Rusty Hinge & Vintage Photo then inked round the image with Forest Moss. I found some Tartan card in my stash so used that as a background before mounting it onto some Green card followed by Red card.  I stamped my sentiment onto another piece of Kraft card using Vintage Photo and inked round it with Forest Moss, I covered this with a piece of Double sided Adhesive Sheet and coated it with Micro Beads then attached it to the bottom of the card and added two gems either end of the tag.

There you have the finished card, very simple and maybe a little traditional with the colours but the stags head is the focal point. Finished dimensions 5" X 7".

Snowy Rooftops

Morning crafters, hope today finds you all well? Thank you for visiting me today I really do appreciate it, its good to share and read your comments. If you have a blog of your own then please leave a link and I will return the favour.

On Sunday I showed you my interpretation of one of Sheena Douglas cards, well today is another one! I don't make it a habit to copy others as I like to use my own ideas but thought I would give it a try with these, this one is not exact but near enough.

I started with my base White card, I embossed some Blue Centura Pearl card with a snowflake folder and matted this onto the White card. Using Blue card I embossed with the snowy rooftops folder, I added glue to the snowflakes and covered them in Glamour Dust and inked over the Santa & Sleigh with Black ink.

I embossed the rooftops again with White card, rubbed Black Soot over the top then adding some water and painted in the roof tops. I coloured the windows in Yellow to look like lights and then using White Acrylic Paint added some snow on the roofs. I cut round the White roof tops and stuck it over the top of the Blue one, I then wrapped around some snowy acetate and matted it onto some Silver card.

Onto some White card I stamped my sentiment, cut it into a ribbon and matted this onto some Silver card. I folded the end round the back of the Silver card and secured it so it just popped round the front over the image. On top of the label I added a little snowflake with a pearl in the center.

I matted this onto the base card and there you have the finished card.

Christmas Ivy

Morning my crafting friends, hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend, lets hope the weather holds just  a little longer.

For todays post I thought I would try a Sheena Douglass idea that she showed recently on her TV shows, I often wonder whether I could make them look as good as she does lol!

So, using the acetate packaging from her folder I embossed the Ivy Frame then rubbed Cast Bronze Gilding Wax over the embossed areas. turning the acetate over I coloured in the Ivy with Spectrum Noirs and put to one side.

Using some Black Soot I stamped my sentiment onto some White card, die cut it out and inked round the die with Forest moss. I placed this in the center of some White card and attached the acetate over the top with some brads.

I matted this up with Gold & Green Card. The dimensions are 7"X5".

I was quite pleased with how it turned out, not quite as good as Sheena's but good enough I think!

Let it Snow!

Morning everyone, hope this day finds you all well? Where has our summer gone? Cannot believe how quickly it is flying by.

Todays card I have used one of the Tattered Lace folders, the beautiful Snowflakes.

I made up an 8"X8" card base using White Textured card and matted this up with Blue card.

I put the Periwinkle card in the embossing folder and through the machine then brayed over the embossed part with Versamark Ink Pad, covered with White embossing powder and heat embossed it. I did the same with the White strip of card but used Artic Pearl Lustre Powder.

I attached the strip of card to the Periwinkle card then matted this onto the Blue card.

I stamped my sentiment and die cut it and inked round the edge. I die cut two of the Die-lites corners & accents and attached these either side of the sentiment then attached them to the card as seen.

I felt it needed a little something under the sentiment so I added a paper bow and added a pearl in the center.

Quite a quick card to make, the snowflake folder did all the work! Sorry about the poor photograph, the white round the outside is not the card its just to cover the background!!!
