True Friendship

Morning my crafting friends, hope this finds you all well.

Todays card is bits I had in my stock that I had not used so just messed about seeing what may look good together! I have a habit sometimes of die cutting loads in different colours and storing them in a box so this is what I looked through.

I started with my basic 8x8 White card then matted this with some Creative Expression Foundation card-Teal, with Creative Expression Foundation card-Light Blue I embossed it with Sheena Douglass Embossing Folder-Maple Leaf and matted & layered  this onto my card.

In my stock I had a die cut from Spellbinders Majestic Elements-Majestic Lables Twenty Five in C.E Teal card so I attached this to my card, I had a frame from Spellbinders Imperial Gold-Gold Lables Four out of Creative Expression Foundation card-Milk and another whole piece with the same die that I had first inked up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Peacock Feathers, it was on this I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expression Unmounted Stamps-Classic Sentiments using T.H. Peacock Feathers. I attached the sentiment on top of the Majestic Lables Twenty Five then added the frame from Gold Lables Four. I felt this left a big space around my sentiment so I added another frame from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Twisted Metal Tags & Accents that had been cut out of Creative Expression Foundation card-Milk, I was not sure whether this would look too much but now I feel it frames the sentiment well as well as filling in the space around it.

Now I just needed something on the bottom, I had in my box some flowers that I had die cut but these were the wrong colour, they were just too much so I die cut more using Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card-Cream, Creative Expressions Foundation Card-Teal, Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die-lites Blooms Three and Four and Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die-lites Sprigs. I inked the Sprigs whilst still in the die with T.H. Peacock Feathers. I layered these up together and placed them onto my card as seen. Keeping the colours limited this looked better than lots of flowers all different colours that did not match the card. Whether it would have looked better had the flowers been White or the frames Cream I do not know? What do you think?

There you have the finished card, I hope you like it.

Thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx

Golden Geisha Girl

Morning crafters, another Oriental card for you today.

I started with a sheet of A4 Black card from The Range and folded it in half to make a 5x7 Landscape card.

On some White card I stamped Justrite Dotted Fronds Background Stamp with my Versamark stamp Pad then heat embossed it with Papermania Embossing Powder Seafoam White, I inked all over with Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Fired Brick then rubbed off the excess from the White embossed area with some kitchen paper. I cut this into 2 inch strips and matted them onto some Red card from Lidls, I placed these onto the card separating them as equally as I could and wrapped a strip of Black Satin Ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons down the center of the middle card before sticking it in place.
With more Black card I die cut the Geisha Girl from Tattered Lace Oriental Collection and was going to place her on the card just Black but felt she did not show up enough so I matted her onto some Create and Craft Gold card then cut round her, I added some Creative Expressions Gilding Wax-Deep Red onto her fan and parts of her dress then over Gilded it with Cast Bronze to bring it out more, I attached her to the card with Pinflare Silicone Glue.
On the Black Ribbon I added some Chinese Metal Coins from my own stash to take the bareness away.

With some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Gold card I die cut the Fan from Tattered Lace Oriental Collection, I also die cut the fan with some of Create and Craft Gold card as they were different tones so could not decide which to use, in the end I went for Create and Craft Gold card as it was the darker of the two but cut sections out of the other and glued these on top of every other section on the fan to give the two tone look but it does not show up on the pictures and a couple of sections have moved since leaving it to dry so it does not look as good as when I first put it together. I folded the fan up in the section and attached to my card again with Pinflare Silicone Glue as seen.

Using more of the darker Gold card I stamped my sentiment from a free stamp set with a Magazine using Tim Holtz Black Soot and die cut it with the smallest die from Spellbinders Imperial Gold-Gold Ivy. I felt this matched the shape of one of the coins so it would not look out of place.

There you have the finished card.

Must get back to doing some Christmas cards otherwise I wont have enough lol!

Chinese Dragon

Morning Crafters, a bit of a different card for you today, something I don't make enough of and that's Oriental cards, I have loads of stash but never get it out lol! Basically its not in my craft room (Which is a desk in my son's bedroom by the way lol!!) It's all kept in the front room in drawers, I must get to sort it all out one day! Anyhow, I did have some of these Oriental goodies cut out in my box so thought I would make a card out of them.

Thank you all for the lovely comments yesterday, sorry did not get back to you all I was absolutely tired last night, we had to work late and then when you get home usual making tea, washing up etc by 9pm I was ready for bed lol! Anyhow, on to todays card...

I started with a sheet of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Gold card and folded it in half to make a 5x7 card.
Onto a sheet of White card I stamped Justrite Elegant Fronds Background Stamp using my Versamark Stamp Pad then heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Seafoam White, I then inked all over with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Dried Marigold. I cut this into three strips roughly just over 2 inches wide and matted them onto some Orange card from Lidls, I attached them to base card with Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Using Creative Expressions Foundation card Burgundy I die cut the Dragon from Tattered Lace and rubbed some Creative Expression Gilding Wax-Cast Bronze just over the edge to give it a glow. Onto White card I die cut the Chrysanthemum flower from Tattered Lace and coloured it in using Promarkers, I attached this to the card in the top right corner with Pinflare Silicone Glue and attached the Dragon in the bottom Left corner with the same glue.

With a scrap of Orange card I stamped my sentiment using Chinese letter stamps that I had in my stash, I bought these from E-bay a couple of years ago, using Tim Holtz Distress Inks-Black Soot. With the die Spellbinders Imperial Gold-Gold Lables Four I inked the die up with Dove craft Premium Pigment Ink Pad-Copper using my brayer, then cut out my sentiment leaving the copper ink in the indentations of the die this made the sentiment stand out a bit and not look too plain. I attached this to the card with Foam Pads in the top left corner.

There you have the finished card.

Victorian Christmas

Morning Crafters, Hope this finds you all well and safe.

Another little Christmas card for you today.

I started with my 6x6 White card and matted it up with more White card.
With more White card I stamped with Heartfelt Creations Peaceful Night Pre cut set and Papermania Clear stamps-Sleigh using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Peacock Feathers and Dried Marigold then ran it through Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Garden Lattice Embossing Folder and inked round the edge with more Dried Marigold. I rounded the corners then matted it onto the card.

I chose a Christmas image from Joanne Sheen Thomas Kinkade CD Rom, printed it off and die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements Imperial Gold-Gold Ivy, I die cut a piece of Gold card using a larger die from the Gold Ivy set and matted and layered the two together before placing on the front of the card as seen.

Using a piece of White card I die cut Spellbinders Shapeabilities Layered Poinsettia using the two smallest dies and inked through these with T.H. Peacock Feathers, I placed these onto my card as seen, then using Cosmic Shimmer Olympic Gold PVA I added faux Pearls round the edge of the card and one in the center of the Poinsettia.

There you have the finished card.

Farmhouse Christmas Bauble

Happy Guy Fawkes crafters, stay safe tonight if you're having Fireworks, or maybe you had them over the weekend? Remember to keep pets indoors, its this time of year I hate as I have to keep my cats in every night for almost a month round here then we get a short break before New Year lol!

Anyway my crafting friends, thank you so much for all your lovely comments yesterday concerning my card and my Daughters Birthday, she informed me she spent the day at the Spa!

Todays card is the similar one to the one I posted on Sunday.

I started with my 6x6 White base card, with some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Pastel card I embossed it with Creative Expression Sue Wilson's Garden Lattice Embossing Folder, rounded the corners, wrapped some White ribbon (Own Stash) down the one side then matted it onto my base card.

With Crafters Companion Centura Silver card I die cut using Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornament with Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements Splendid Circles in the center.

On some White card I stamped Sheena Douglass Little Bit Festive Farmhouse Christmas with Versa Color Royal Blue ink, cut to size and attached it to the back of the Bauble to show the image through the center.
On the bottom of the bauble I stamped my sentiment from Crafty Impressions Clear Stamps using the same Royal blue ink, I then attached the complete bauble to my card with Foam Pads.

Using more Centura card I die cut Spellbinders Shapeabilities Layered Poinsettia, whilst still in the die I inked through with the Royal Blue ink again, layered them together and added an Habico Self Adhesive Pearl. I made a bow out of the same White ribbon and attached my Poinsettia flower in the center with Pinflare Silicone Glue and attached it to the card as seen.

There you have the finished card.
