Sweet Moments of the Season

Morning crafters, isn't the weather getting colder now, we have been spoilt with such a wonderful summer! Time for the heating to go on I think.

Today I am showing a simple Christmas card, I folded a sheet of Creative Expressions Foundation card Lilac in half for my base card and matted it with some Silver Miri card.
With White card I randomly stamped with JustRite Background Stamp Elegant Fronds and Creative Expressions 'That Special Touch Mask' Funky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Shaded Lilac. Then ran it through the Grand Calibar using Sue Wilson Embossing Folder Garden Lattice, I then matted this onto my card.

Using more White card I die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements Gold Circles One and inked with Shaded Lilac whilst still in the die. I then Stamped my sentiment, I know I did this backwards but hey ho! My sentiment was from Heartfelt Creations Sweet Memories Pre Cut Set, I stamped it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot. I matted this onto more Silver Miri card and attached it to my card as seen.

I made a bow out of some Lilac Ribbon I had in my stash and attached this to the card under the sentiment.

Using White card and Spellbinders Shapeabilities Layered Poinsettia I die cut two smaller flowers and inked through the die with more Shaded Lilac, I assembled the flowers and placed them onto my bow. In the center of the flower I added a little 'pearl' out of Cosmic Shimmer Specialist Pearl PVA, I repeated this in all four corners of the card and there you have the finished card.

Winter Wellies

Morning again crafters, hope this day finds you all well and happy. A BIG hello to Sam Smithard, a warm welcome and thank you for visiting my blog.

Thank you for all the lovely comments yesterday I really do appreciate it, I may not always comment back on your blogs straight away but try and get round to everyone's sometime during the day. Thank you.

Today's card is another take on the 'Snowy Wellies' one I put on last month, this time I decided to colour it.

I started with some Creative Expressions Foundation card Lime Green and folded it in half to form my base card. I cut a piece of Crafters Companion Embossed Snowflake card  and inked round the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Crushed Olive then matted this onto my base card.
Onto some White card I stamped my focal image from Sheena Douglass Little Bit Festive Snowy Wellies and colored it in with Royal Langnickel Water color paints-Violet, Deep Green, Crimson Red Lake, Burnt Umber and Black as seen. I washed a bit of colour out of the wellies to make it look like they had a shine to them and added some thick dark brown round the edges of the wellies and sledge. I put a wash of pale blue just under the wellies to look like snow and added some Deco Art Glamour Dust along the lines of snow for some sparkle. In the top right corner I stamped a few snowflakes from Sheena Douglass Little Bit Scenic Ornate Snowflakes using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass.

I die cut this out with Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles and attached it to my card. Using White card and White Vellum I die cut several snowflakes from Spellbinders Shapeabilities 2012 Snowflake Pendants, I inked round the larger  one with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, the smaller ones I heat embossed with Cosmic shimmer Embossing Powder Tropic Pearl Lustre then attached them on the card as seen. On top of each snowflake I added an Habico Self Adhesive Flat Backed Pearl.

On the edge of the Radiant Rectangle die I placed a bow out of own stash Christmas ribbon, with a piece of White card I die cut with Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two and inked through die with Tumbled Glass, I wrote With Love on it as I could not find a sentiment small enough to fit at the time, then attached it with Creative Expression Bakers Twine Green to the ribbon.

There you have the finished card.

Farmhouse Christmas

Morning crafters, another Monday is upon us, don't know where the weeks go and the weekends just fly by.

I have done two interpretations of todays card, I have put the image of the other card at the end of this post.

I got a sheet of Creative Expressions Foundation Card Blue (sorry not sure exact color) and folded it in half. I cut a piece of Crafters Companion Embossed Snowflake card to size, rounded the corners and inked round the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, I then attached this to my base card.

Using some White card I stamped my image from Sheena Douglass Little Bit Festive stamps Farmhouse Christmas (hence the title!) with Versa Color Ink Pad in Royal Blue and spread the ink by painting with just a damp brush putting extra ink on the darker parts. I painted the windows with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade. Using Spellbinders Nestabilities Grand Decorative Ovals I die cut the image and inked through the die with Tumbled Glass, I placed this onto my card off setting it to the right. I added a little sparkle to the rooftops and ground by using my glue pen with Deco Art Glamour Dust.

Using some White card and White Vellum I die cut some snowflakes with Spellbinders Shapeabilities 2012 Snowflakes Pendants and heat embossed each one with Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Tropic Pearl Lustre. I made up a few snowflakes and placed them curved around the edge of the focal image, on top of each set of snowflakes I placed an Habico Self Adhesive Flat-backed Pearl to finish the card. I did not add a sentiment as I did not feel it needed one.

Now this is the other card I made using the same ideas as  this one, the only difference is I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Lables 20 instead of the Grand Oval and used Teal coloured card instead of Light Blue for the base card. Although I like them both I think I prefer the one with the Grand Oval.

Hanging Baubles

Morning crafters, a good morning to you all, hope you are all having a good weekend?

This was a Christmas card I made a while ago now, I think I did put a similar one on my blog a few weeks back.

Anyhow, I started with A4 Creative Expressions Foundation card Teal and folded it in half. I cut to size some Silver Miri card and with some White card I stamped randomly with JustRite Background Stamp Elegant Fronds using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and inked through the Creative Expression 'That Special Touch Mask' Funky with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass I then ran it through the Couture Creations Embossing Folder Damask. Along the bottom I wrapped some American Seam Binding Ribbon-Teal and tied it in a knot at the front and placed a Trimcraft  Santa Workshop Button on top of the knot. I then matted this card onto the Silver Miri card.

Using my Versamark Stamp Pad I stamped Sue Wilson Stamps to Die For-Lattice Bauble, Ornate Bauble and Floral Bauble onto some Teal card and heat embossed them with Papermania Embossing Powder Silver, I then die cut them with Spellbinders Nestabilities 2010 Heirloom Ornaments and 2011 heirloom Ornaments

With each of the baubles I attached a piece of White cord using different lengths so the smallest was at the back, I secured the cord round the back of the card with some tape, stuck the baubles in place and added a little bow from my own stash on the top of each bauble.

I stamped onto a piece of White card my sentiment from Crafters Companion Clear Stamps (These came in a Christmas magazine set last Christmas) using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and die cut with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Back to Basic Tags I attached this just under the knot of the ribbon.

I then matted this onto the base card and there you have the finished card. Quite an easy card to make and one that would look great in whatever colour theme you chose.

The Lily Pond

Morning Crafters, today I have my interpretation of a Sheena Douglass' card.

I first cut to size a piece of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl card-Gold. On my glass cutting board I placed some ink from Tim Holtz Distress Inks-Crushed Olive, Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac, with a damp paintbrush I picked up the ink from each of these colours and washed over the card so I had the Blue & Green tones at the bottom with the Lilac at the top, then I left this to dry.

Once dry I stamped Sheena Douglass Little Bit Orient - Koi & Waterlilies towards the bottom of the card, using more ink I painted the waterlilies in certain areas to add tone. I added two more lily pads further up the card, though wish I hadn't but once done could not change it! With my Versamark Stamp Pad I stamped the lilies from the same set on top of a few lily pads and heat embossed them with Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Tropic Pearl Lustre & Tropic Yellow Lustre and painted these in using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Victorian Velvet & Squeezed Lemonade.

Using Sheenas' Little Bit Oriental - Sakura I stamped the blossom at the top of the card with Shaded Lilac then using Reeves Acrylic Paints Crimson & Titanium White I painted in the blossom. Once this was dry I used the Sakura stamp with my Versamark Stamp Pad and stamped over the painted blossom then heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Black Sparkle, I did miss a couple of places but it does not seem to matter. I painted the branches with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

Using a piece of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl card I stamped my sentiment from JustRite Large Fancy Sentiments using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot and die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements Exquisite Circles, still in the die I inked with Victorian Velvet. I stuck this onto some Black card and cut around the edge leaving a boarder.

With my main focal image dry I matted & layered onto Black card then onto Crafters Companion Centura Pearl card Pastel (Pink), then once more onto Black card before attaching it to my 8 x 8 base card.

To finish the card off I placed my sentiment in the middle of the card on the left.

Thank you for looking, I hope you like it? Jacquie xxx
