Glazed Butterflies

Hello my crafting friends, good of you to join me today, I hope you are all safe and well, if not plenty of hugs coming your way.

Today's post is another card I made a while back using the butterfly stamp I bought but this time I added a background of modeling paste through the honeycomb stencil.

I started with some basic White card cut to size to form the base. Using another piece of White card I added the modeling paste through the stencil and once dry stenciled some Peacock Feathers over the edges and rounded the corners.

I inked my butterfly stamp up with three distress inks; Crushed Olive, Dried Marmalade & Peacock Feathers, spritzed it with water then stamped onto White card, this gave a beautiful three colour effect, once dry I applied Glaze over the top three times, fussy cut it out and mounted on top of the honeycomb paste using foam tape then attached this to my base card, again using foam tape.

There you have the finished card, dimensions are 6"X4"

Items used:

White Card
Crafty Individuals Rubber Stamp Butterflies C1-347
Tim Holtz Distress Inks Crushed Olives, Dried Marmalade & Peacock Feathers
Dina Wakley Media Stencil
Maimen Modeling Paste

  5. Morning Jacquie, stunning card!! I've tried using paste through stencils, but normally for a topper - love the idea of using for a background. Janice xxx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com
