Sorry!

Hello my crafting friends, so sorry for the lack of posts I have been away, again lol! so not had time to craft, I will get something on here shortly.
We were at an amazing event in Durham celebrating Sara Davies (Crafters Companion) 10th Birthday Party, not only did we meet the fabulous Sara and her fabulous team but also I got to meet some of the wonderful, talented girls on the Crafters Companion team and Sheena Douglass Inkoids team.

 Sara & I

 Sheena, Russ, Ink-oids & I

It was such a fabulous evening none of us wanted it to end. Everyone was a joy to meet especially Sara, she greeted you as if you were an old friend who she had known for years rather than someone she had met for the first time. What a great lady.

Well I hope to resume normal posts asap, until then

Thinking of You Butterfly

Hello my crafting friends, sorry I am a bit late posting, I hope this finds you all well, lots of hugs to those who need them.

Now I decided to play again today, get a bit messy like we crafters do and whilst I had some colours on my glass mat I came across an old stamp of a Butterfly so I painted the colours onto the butterfly and stamped it onto water colour card and this was the result, a bit wishy-washy but I liked it.

I was playing with some Lumin Art mica powders, not brilliant but I got an image and rather than waste it I turned it into a card adding the sentiment at the bottom with Peacock Feathers DI.

A few self adhesive pearls in each corner finished the card.

Seasons Greetings 2015

Hello my crafting friends, good to have you here today, I am back from my little holiday it was fabulous to see my beautiful Daughter again, even if it was for only a few days, it was last Christmas the last time I saw her, such a long time.

Now as I said on my last post I have been making smaller cards with coloured backgrounds, this one is slightly different as after spraying the background I added a leaf stencil then sprayed over that in White so this gives it a bit of a focal point.

I attached my background using Foam Tape towards the top of the card, leaving the space at the bottom for my sentiment.

I die cut the bauble from 2011 Heirloom Ornament and painted it Red, then die cut the smaller bauble from Christmas Baubles and painted that Gold, I stuck them together with PVA Glue, added two foam pads on the back and placed them on the card, I drew in the hanging cord with a Gold pen.

I added my sentiment at the bottom using Forest Moss DI and there you have the finished card. Dimensions 4"X 6".

Items Used;

Sheena Douglass White Stamping Card
Aquatints
Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments Dies

A Very Merry Christmas

Hello my crafting friends, good of you to join me today, this post is scheduled as I will still be in Cornwall so I hope its come up okay? I have left hubby at home looking after the pets, my time away lol!

My last two posts have been made from the backgrounds I made and these next two are no exception, they are nice easy and small cards to make in batch for Christmas, I have decided, due to costs, to keep my cards small this year apart from close Family members, they are quicker to make too!!!

I loved how the background to this one turned out and wish I had done it bigger lol! That's the beauty of these backgrounds you never get two looking the same. Needless to say I used Yellow & Red on this one, starting with the lightest colour first, keep alternating the colours until you get the desired effect you want. I have to give credit to Loll for this one as she posted a similar one to this on her blog HERE and I just loved the simplicity of the one bauble which is why I did this particular one.

My base card was an A4 sheet of White card, folded in half then cut down the middle, so basically A6 size cards.

I attached the coloured square with Foam Tape towards the top of the card.

Using more White card I die cut and embossed four different baubles, these two are Spellbinders Nestabilities 2010 Heirloom Ornaments and Spellbinders Christmas Baubles, I painted the larger one Blue and the smaller one Gold, attached them together then placed them on the card as seen, drew in the cord with Gold pen then stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card using Gold ink, this did not show up as much as I would have liked but there was no way I was going to try and go over it lol!

I just stamped a very simple Christmas message inside and there you have the finished card, dimensions are 4" X 6".

Items Used:

Aquatints-Bright & Essentials
Sheena Douglass White Stamping Card
Spellbinders Nestabilities 2010 Heirloom Ornaments
Spellbinders Christmas Baubles (These came free with the first GC)

Christmas Ivy

Morning my crafting friends, so good to have you come and visit me today, I really do appreciate it.

On Tuesday I showed you a card I had made with some sprayed backgrounds, this is another one today, quite similar in fact so I hope you don't mind?

I used the White Stamping card as my base and this time I used Water-colour card for the center sprayed panel. I used just Yellow & Blue to spray this one as I knew it would give lovely shades of Green. The top photo is the true colour, the smaller close up image is showing a little darker!

I attached my panel at the top of the card using Foam Tape then die cut some Ivy using more of the Water-colour Card and placed it across the top. of the panel.

I stamped my sentiment onto White card and cut it into a ribbon banner and placed this at the bottom of the card as seen.

Another quick and easy card, I thought it would make an unusual Christmas card.

Decorative Ivy

Hello my crafting friends, a bit late in posting but better late than never right? I hope you are all well and busy crafting away, I managed a little play time yesterday which is why I am posting this lol!

I had been playing with spraying some backgrounds of various colours with diluted Aquatints and this was one of them.

I die cut and embossed my card base using Spellbinders Decorative Curved Square out of White Card and used this as the whole card.

Using one of the coloured panels I die cut the middle piece of the decorative square to fit in the center of the card.

I die cut some Ivy again using White card, painted it with Aquatints, Stamped it with Crushed Olive, trimmed to fit and lay across the top. The bit I trimmed off I placed on the inside.

A very simple and quick card, I have left a sentiment off until I use it.

Fairy Bubbles

Hello my crafting friends, sorry I have been a bit absent of late, so much to do so little time to do it, you know the drift! Anyhow, I managed to get some craft time in this afternoon so I have produced this little bit of magic for you. I know I am back with the faeries, away with them at times lol! I just loved the vision of a Fairy blowing bubbles in the forest/woods/wilderness, whatever, see I told you I was away with the faeries lol!

Now for her being in whatever setting she may be in, you have to use your imagination lol! I did not wish to fill the image with trees or leaves, just an open space.

For the background I used DI Iced Spruce, Weathered Wood and Tattered Rose. I took the stencil Textured Scraped Paint, taped it at the top of the card and spread some modelling paste over certain areas then coated it with Glamour Dust , does not show on this image sadly but I will add another at the end of this post.

I die cut and embossed the fairy and coloured her in with Spectrum Noir Pens, I did stamp in her face but not her arms or legs. I die cut her wings out of acetate and coloured the back with Spectrum Noir Pens, inked over the back with my Versamark ink pad and sprinkled with Glamour Dust. I placed her on the card but did not attach her at this point, just so I could work out where the bubbles would start, I then drew the bubbles in by drawing round various size tops of bottles with a White water colour pencil. I faux bleached these with water and dabbed dry with kitchen towel. I then drew on the little shiny mark again using the water colour pencil.

On the bottom I stamped the Mushrooms using DI Weathered Wood and painted them in with the same DI. I also added some little bits of grass on the bottom so it looked like the ground.

I attached the fairy in her place then added the bowl and stick for the bubbles! Well she had to be using something  though perhaps she could have magically wished them in the air!!!

There you have the finished card, dimensions are 5" X 7".

Yuletide Greetings

Hello my crafting friends, hope this finds you safe and well, plenty of hugs to those who need them.

I have another Elf & Fairy card for you today, one of my favourites, it was done in all sepia tone so an easy one to make. I do not think I have shown this one so apologies if I have.

I stamped my card with the brick work from The Enchanted Doorway using Vintage Photo and painted them in with a little water, spreading the ink out, the window was another stamp that I cannot remember who by but it fitted in well with what I wanted. I cut out the windows using a craft knife then placed Acetate on the back. I added a little flower-soft snow on the windows.

I die cut and embossed my Fairy & Elf and painted them using Vintage Photo DI.

I found an old vintage Christmas scene on the internet and placed this behind the Fairy and positioned her onto the back of the card as if she was looking out of the window.

For the Elf I made the back version then placed him in front of the window looking in. I placed more of the snow flower-soft at his feet.

I matted and layered this onto Black & Gold card using Foam Tape then stamped my sentiment again using Vintage Photo and made it into a ribbon banner and added this at the top of the card as seen.

I did enjoy making this and loved the finished card.

Pandas

Hello my crafting friends, good of you to join me today, I hope you are all well?

Well today sees this as my last post for my Design Team slot for http://lilpatchofcraftyfriends.blogspot.co.uk/, I have really enjoyed my time on the DT, they are such a great bunch and I am sure you will all continue to support them now that I have left. It was a hard decision to make but a right one for the time being.

Now this challenge sponsors are:

Imagine that! ... Digis by Kris

 Prize: $10 Gift Certificate

 Bugaboo Stamps

Prize: Bugaboo Stamps 7 Images
Feary Ink

Prize 3 Images

Great prizes from our sponsors so I do hope you will come along and join in with Challenge 15.

For this Challenge I have chosen the beautiful images from Imagine that!-Digis by Kris    Its called Pandas and you not only get the digi images but the coloured ones as well along with the backing papers and the words so great value.

I started with my basic White base card and matted it up with one of the papers in the set, I chose the beautiful panda one, sorry I know it is covered up a bit but you can just make it out.

Using Photoshop I brought up my three images that I had saved, I decided to use the ones already coloured, the two Pandas and the word HI in bamboo. For this I just used the 'H' from the HI, enlarged it so it became quite abstract.  I cut round each of the two Pandas then placed each one in their respective place on the 'H'. I uploaded my chosen wording and re-sized it and placed it at the top of the image then saved it all and printed it off onto Photo Paper.

I matted this onto Gold miri card and attached it to my base card at an angle using Foam Tape.

To finish the card I added a couple of brads in the two corners as seen. Finished dimension 7"X7".

Items Used:

White Base Card
Imagine that! Digi Set Pandas
Gold Miri Card
Brads
Foam Tape
Photoshop!

May I say a huge THANK YOU  to the owner of LPOCF Denise and all the Design Team for all their support over the last 7 months, how time flies! I shall miss them all.
