On Your Christening

Morning my crafting friends, hope you are all well, thank you for your visit today I do appreciate it, its always nice to read your comments for my post and I love to view and comment on your posts too, so if you are new please do leave a link to your blog so I am able to return the favour.

Now today's card is the second of the two Christening cards I made for one of my work colleagues, her two Grandsons, George and Alfie get christened on Sunday and she wanted similar cards with the same verse, you can view the first card on Saturdays post, I have added a little image of the update of it at the bottom of this post now it has been personalized.

I have made the card in exactly the same way, two A5 cards joined together by the backs of the card, again I have used Creative Expressions Foundation card for the base card, Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Paper for the front that has been embossed with Sheena Douglass Embossing Folder Indian Lattice. I matted and layered first some more CE Blue card followed by four squares of Hunkydory Blue Checked card. I printed off the internet a couple of images of a tractor and some boats, apparently these are George's (aged 2)favourites and die cut them out with SB Gold Labels Four, I embossed with the same die using CE Blue card, cut it out and used it as the backing layer for the images both on the front and inside. Using the same dies again I die cut more Blue card and die cut the computer printed sentiment on White card and inked round with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. Both the Tractor and sentiment I attached to the front of the card on top of the checked squares as seen.

I bought some Papermania Mini Bunting that comes in different colours, attached the Blue bunting to some Blue twine then added the letters which had been die cut from Tattered Lace Alphabet die with White card, then hung them on the card as seen.

On the inside fold of the card I matted up more of the embossed CC Centura Paper with more of the Hunkydory Checked card, I attached the Boats image in the center then added on two of the corners from the corner die from Sue Wilson Spanish Collection Boarder, Corner & Tags that had been die cut with CC Centura Pearl White card.

On the inside I attached the embossed image from Sheena Douglass Ancient Arches Embossing Folder and on the inside right added the chosen verse that I edged with some Papermania Blue ribbon.

This then completed the card.

As you can see by the image of the first card I just added the name Archie again using bunting on the corner with the computer printed sentiment on the bottom, die cut with SB Twisted Metal & Tags on White card with Blue card underneath to act as a shadow. This too was inked with TH Tumbled Glass.

To finish both cards I added some Creative Expressions Self Adhesive Pearls onto the Lattice work on the first card and Hobby House Pearls on this card.

Not the 'normal' Christening cards but I hope she likes them.

Babies Christening

Morning Crafters, hope this finds you all safe and well.

I am glad to report that the new addition Keala is settling in well and my two cats are still looking worried! The female has got a little closer to the door but the Male wont come out of the front room lol!

Today's card is one of two Christening cards I have been asked to make for a woman at work whose two Grandsons are being Christened next week, they will both be personalized on the front.

I started with two sheets of Creative Expressions Foundation card Light Blue, folded each in half then glued two sides together to form the base.

On the two fronts I matted up with some Crafters Companion White Centura Pearl Card that had been embossed with Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Garden Lattice Embossing Folder, followed by some Blue checked card I had from Hunkydory a while back. I added a little Creative Expressions Scalloped Edge Lace over the check card before matting it onto the White card.

I found some baby images on the net to use on the card, (I just wanted hands and feet), using more CE Blue Card with SB Twisted Metal and Tags to frame the image and add the embellishments on the corners and under the second image on the inside.

Seeing as the card opened like a book I wanted to add something in the middle but not another image so I decided to Emboss some CC Centura Pearl Card with Sheena Douglass Embossing Folder Ancient Arches and attached this to the inside of the card, I printed out a verse and attached that to the back of the second opening of the card, hope this all makes sense? Sorry if you are unable to clearly see the embossed Arches on the inside, its not a very good photo!

Apart from adding the names on the front the card was complete.

Butterfly Love

Morning my crafting friends, sorry I have been away for a while, have been to Cornwall visiting my daughter, had a most wonderful time and it was so good to see her and her partner again, had not seen them since Christmas and probably wont again till this coming Christmas!

I have bought back another addition to our 'Family', a Black Labrador Bitch!!! My Daughter has had her for just over 3 years and with a combination of both their work loads getting heavier and their 2 other dogs picking on her they thought it best to re home her and I could not let her go anywhere else, she is such a lovely girl, my Daughter rescued her from a Puppy farm originally so now she is being spoilt. Just got to get her used to the cats and visa versa as they say, my poor cats were petrified, its been 2 days since we came back and they have calmed down a bit but that's only because there is always a door between them and the dog at the moment! I am slowly letting them get used to her being here and passing their scents to each other, next week may be door opening time!!! At least the cats have not been going mad trying to get out, they seem pretty content at the moment staying in lol!

Well todays post was a quick card I made from an old card set of Hunkydory's, all purple and full of butterflies! It was basically folding one of the backing cards in half, matting it up with some Silver Mirri Card, cutting a section out of another backing paper and using it as the main background then adding a Butterfly image, attaching a pop out Butterfly over the top of the image butterfly, added a few Gems on the body and card, placing the sentiment under the image then it was finished!!!

Hope to be back in the week with another post.

Meet Keala, the newest addition to our 'Family'. She always looks so sad even when she is happy!

'HAPPY EASTER' TO YOU ALL

Morning crafters, thank you for stopping by today, this post is scheduled as will not be around for a few days so I do apologize for not being able to look at your posts but will hopefully check them all out on my return.

Today's post is a very quick Easter card I made using free downloads, it was just a case of matting and layering up some Creative Expressions Foundation card Spring Green with some White card and some freebie papers from Crafting.co.uk, the image, another freebie download from Pink Gem Designs I die cut with SB Grand Decorative Ovals and attached to my card.

The Boarder is from Sue Wilson Spanish Collection Corner, Boarder & Tag, these are so beautiful and delicate. The little tag was from SB Twisted Metals and Tags and I just wrote on it myself.

Sorry its such a quick post today but I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter and don't get too sick eating all those chocolates will you?

Hope to be back Wednesday.

Little Bit Oriental

Morning my crafting friends, hope today is a good day for you, I am in my second week of the Easter hols and my is it going quick.

I have gone Oriental again for you today, it has been a while, I found the little image among my stash and I had the Oval that was die cut out of Sundays post so thought I would use the two together so that's where I started.
I took a sheet of Creative Expression Foundation Card Burgundy and folded it half for the base. I matted this up with some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Ivory card then with more of the Burgundy card I embossed it with Sheena Douglass Oriental Sakura Silhouette Embossing Folder, rounded the corners and added a boarder across the bottom made out of Black Card with SB Asian Accents, secured it round the back and matted this onto my card.

As I said at the beginning I found the Oriental image amongst my stash, I think it may be one of Debbie Moores creations but not 100% sure but looking through my CD Roms it may be from Joanna Sheen Tales of the Orient, sorry cannot remember. I attached this to the Oval Die cut that I had from the card in my last post and placed it on my card as seen. At the top I added a little swirl from SB Venetian Motifs out of CC Centura Ivory card to finish the card, I did not feel the need to add any other embellishments or bows so left it as it was.

Peaceful Pink Christmas

Morning my friends, hope this finds you all well?

Today's card is another I did for the Pink Christmas Challenge I could not decide which one I liked best so entered both!

This is another easel card, I started with some old Hunkydory foiled Christmas card I had in my stash, this was a deep Pink though it looks Red in the picture! I folded the card to make the easel then added the left over Create and Craft Pink Glitter card on the inside of the base.  I had first wrapped a piece of Pink dotted Ribbon round before I stuck it down. I cut two boarders from SB Venetian Accents out of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card Pastel Pink and attached one to the bottom of the easel card.

Onto some White card I stamped another image from Do Crafts Papermania Enchanted Christmas with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot and coloured it in with Promarkers before die cutting with SB Grand Decorative Circles, whilst in the die I inked up with TH Tumbled Glass to act as a sky then embossed some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card Pastel Pink using the same die, cut round the edge and fixed the image in place.

I attached my second boarder onto the front fold of the easel card and attached the image in the center over the top as seen.

I die cut some SB Shapeabilities Die-lites Holly Twigs and Leaves and painted the leaves with Acrylic Paints-Crimson and Titanium White then rubbed a bit of Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax Spring Green over the top to show up the embossed stems, I placed three medium size leaves onto my image with the Berries.

On more White card I stamped my sentiment from Crafty Impressions Clear Stamps Christmas Snowflake Sentiments with TH Black Soot and die cut it with SB  Shapeabilities Die-lites Petite Lables One, I inked in the die with TH Victorian Velvet, attached this onto the base of the easel and added more of the smaller SB Holly Leaves and Berries on the edge.

There you have the finished card.

Merry 'Pink' Christmas

Morning my crafting friends, hope this finds you all safe and well.  Thank you for visiting my blog today its much appreciated and I love to visit yours so if you are new and have a blog then please do leave a message and I can return the favour.

Now you might be wondering what on earth am I posting a Christmas card so early for...well I did intend to start them earlier this year but the competition from http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/im-dreaming-of-pink-christmas.html encouraged me to start now lol! Now we all know that Pink is not one of my favourite colours so I don't tend to make many Pink cards even though they are popular but I found it quite satisfying making this, whether it was because it was 'one' colour and I didn't have to think too much or because it was something different being Christmas...who knows lol! My apologies for the poor Photographs as these were taken on my mobile phone as my card for my camera has broken so I am awaiting for the arrival of a new one.

I decided early on I wanted an Oval easel card so I started with the base by folding a sheet of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl card Pastel Pink in half and die cutting with SB Grand Decorative Ovals by placing the Oval above the fold line so as to not cut into it, as this was double card it took a few times of going through the E Bosser before it cut and then Emboss. Once done I folded  the card back on itself so I had the Pink showing on the base rather than the White inside if that makes sense? The top half I folded down to make the easel and to attach the topper too.

I die cut another Oval using the same SB Grand Ovals but this time out of Create and Craft Pink Glitter card, I have had these Glitter cards in my stash for a couple of years now and only really use them at Christmas, as this was a deep Pink it went well with the CC Centura Pink card.

On some White card using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pumice Stone I stamped my image from Do crafts Papermania Enchanted Christmas Stamps, I bought these well over a year ago and never got round to using them last Christmas, there are some lovely fantasy images but I chose the Reindeer carrying the sack of parcels, I coloured him in with Spectrum Noir and Promarkers, I have given him Pink wings and I glittered them up with Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels Iced Snow then die cut him out with one of the SB Grand Decorative Ovals dies and inked through the die with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Victorian Velvet, got to keep it Pink!

I attached this to the center of the Pink Glitter card oval then attached both onto the base card, I needed a stopper for the easel so stamped the sentiment from Do crafts Clear Stamps and die cut it with SB Splendid Circles, I cut a base for it out of the Pink Glitter card using SB Nestabilities Standard Circles, I put these together and attached them to the base card as seen.

My card was almost complete but I felt the topper was a bit plain so out of CC Centura Pink pastel card I die cut two swirly bits from SB Shapeabilities Twisted Metal and Tags Accents, I attached the smaller one at the top of the image with the larger one to the bottom left, I then decided to add some small SB Poinsettia flowers that I had in my stash from last Christmas out of White card and Creative Expressions Blush card, I added some glue to the top of these and dipped them into Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels Diamond Snow, added an Create and Craft Iridescent Gem in the middle of each flower then attached them on the card on top of the large Swirl. I don't think the glitter stands out by these photos so I apologize for that. There you have my completed Pink Christmas Card. I hope you like it?

I am entering this into  http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/im-dreaming-of-pink-christmas.

True Friendship

Hi My crafting friends, hope this finds you all safe and well today.

Today I would like to wish one of my best friends Emma Happy Birthday, today's card is one I made for Emma, we have not seen each other for over a year now and I do miss her company. I never seem to find the time to travel up to Norfolk to see her or my other friends but we do keep in touch as often as possible.

I started with Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Ivory card and folded it in half to make the base card.I matted and layered this with more Centura card but this time from the Pastel collection in Pink.

Using more of the CC Centura Ivory card I stamped it with Justrite Background Stamp Dotted Frond using my Versamark Ink Pad then heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Seafoam White, I had to extend the pattern both at the side and bottom. I die cut an oval out using SB Grand Decorative Ovals, I think this was the third die down then matted this onto my base card.

Using some White card I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expressions Unmounted Stamps Classic Sentiments with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pumice Stone and die cut with the smaller die from the SB Grand Decorative Ovals, I inked through the die with TH Distress Ink Victorian Velvet and attached it to the card in the center of the larger Oval die cut.

I made some flowers with CC Ivory, Pink and White card using SB Shapeabilities Die-lites Blooms 1, 3 & 4 and some SB Die-lites Sprigs out of White card, the White flowers I coloured the edges with TH Victorian Velvet and Antique Linen, placed a Hobby House Flat backed Pearl Medallion in the center and attached these to the card around the bottom of the Oval and one in the top right corner to balance the card out. Under the flowers I added the sprigs and there is the finished card.

Dimensions are 5"X7".

I shall now go back to cleaning all the blinds and windows in my conservatory, I started on Friday, its so time consuming taking each vertical blind down, washing them, cleaning all the conservatory plastic, windows, window sills and skirting then hanging the blinds back up again to dry before putting back in the weights and chains! It looks good in the end though. I think this will be the last time I will be able to wash these blinds as they are getting tatty now and the weights are starting to disintegrate, they have been up for 10 years but are far too expensive to replace. My in-laws have just replaced theirs and they cost over £1000, their conservatory is half the size of ours lol!!! We had a large conservatory 22' X 12' as its our living room. Still its the one job I wanted to get finished this holiday and now I have.

All Our Best Wishes

Morning crafters, hope this finds you all safe and well and thank you for visiting my post today, its much appreciated.

This is the second card I managed to get done on Monday. I started with a sheet of Cream Textured card (own stash) for the base card, I matted and layered this up with Creative Expressions Foundation Card Burgundy followed by more of the cream card.
Using more of the Burgundy card I stamped on either end with Justrite background Stamp Elegant Fronds with my Versamark Ink Pad and heat embossed with Papermania Embossing Powder Red Tinsel, this does leave a slight glitter effect but it does not show up on the photograph. I rounded the corners before attaching it to the card.

With more Cream card I die cut SB Nestabilities Decorative Elements Splendid Circles, whilst it was still in the die I inked round the edge with TH Distress Ink Fired Brick and stamped the sentiment from Creative Expressions Unmounted Stamps Treasured Memories again using Fired Brick. I then attached it to the center of the card.
Out of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Ivory card I die cut using Tonic Emily and layered this over the top of the circle to form a decorative frame.

There you have the finished card, I hope you like it? I apologize for the couple of glue spots on the card, the Emily die is so thin there are not too many places to glue it down so the glue spread when it was pressed onto the card, so annoying lol!

FRIEND

Morning my crafting friends, so nice of you to join me today, I hope this finds you all safe and well? I managed to get a little play time in on Monday so this is one of the cards I made.

I started with a sheet of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card Pastel Yellow and folded it half to make a 7X5 Landscape card, on top of this I matted and layered some White card. With more of the CC Centura Yellow card I stamped it twice with Justrite Background Stamp Secret Garden using my Versamark Ink Pad then heat embossed it with Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Tropic Yellow Lustre to give a tone on tone look, I must say I did like the look of this when it was finished, its hard to see its full potential by the photograph. Before attaching this to my card I wrapped a piece of Fantastic Ribbons Yellow Satin Ribbon round the middle and stuck it round the back.

With Crafters Companion Centura Pearl White Card I die cut the outer frame from Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic Elements Majestic Labels Twenty-Five and the Oval Frame and Tag from Wild Rose, I attached the Oval Frame onto my card in the center of the Labels Twenty-Five Frame then with the tag I stamped on 'Friends' using Creative Expressions Unmounted Stamps Heartfelt Sentiments and Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot, I inked round the edge of this with TH Squeezed Lemonade and attached it to the center of the Oval with Foam Pads to raise it up slightly.
I made a bow with more Yellow Ribbon attached to the top of the card and added a Creative Expressions Small Pearl Embellishment in the center along with CE Self Adhesive Pearls on each corner.

There you have the finished card. I was quite happy with how it turned out and I love the background.

Butterfly & Roses

Morning  crafters, hope this finds you all safe and well and that you all had a good weekend? I managed to find time to make one card, yes just one and that's todays post lol! I just don't know where the time goes lately, I have intentions of spending a whole afternoon crafting then find I only manage a couple of hours if I'm lucky, yet nothing seems to get done! Is your day like that?

I wish to give a very warm welcome to my newest follower John Lockwood, I am honored to have John as a follower his cards are amazing, for those of you who have not visited Johns website you are missing out, its http://johnnextdoor.blogspot.co.uk/  do go and take a look you wont be disappointed. Thank you John for joining me and feel free to nick any ideas, we crafters like to share.

Well, after Saturdays post when I did the tail of roses from the bow, I thought it looked like a butterfly so that is what I have done on todays card.

My base card is Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Pastel card in Purple folded in half to make a basic 7X5 card, I cut a piece of CC Centura Pearl White card to size then embossed it with the Regency Swirls Embossing Folder again. I matted this onto my base card.

With a piece of the CC Centura Purple card I embossed the Tattered Lace Butterfly die and hand cut this out then die cut with the same TL Butterfly die but with White Centura card, I glued the center of the White butterfly onto the body of the Purple butterfly so the wings were loose. I attached this to my card then added the Papermania Satin Buds onto the body and down as a trail.

Onto some more CC Centura Purple card I stamped Phil Martin Butterfly Dance Background Stamp with my Versamark Ink Pad and heat embossed with Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Tropical Pearl Lustre then die cut with SB Labels Eighteen.

I looked for a verse to do with Butterflies off the net, found an appropriate one and printed that out, I die cut again with SB Lables Eighteen and inked round the edge with Promarker Lilac, I did have the author printed at the bottom of the verse but the die cut it off! It was by Heinrich Heine, 'New Spring'. I attached this onto the the Butterfly background Stamped card and attached it to the top right corner of the card. I added a Purple Gem in each corner and there you have the finished card.
I am not sure whether I should have put another one or two layers on the card, perhaps it would have looked better with another layer of White & Purple before the embossed card? I never do seem to put enough layers on my cards, I only think about them when I have finished then its too late lol! Anyhow, do let me know what you think.

Thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx

Happy Easter

Morning crafters, sorry I have not been on lately just not had the time to do any crafting but hopefully that will change now I am on holiday. I have tried to keep up with all of your posts, if I have missed anyone then I apologize.
I would love to give a very warm Welcome to two new followers Diane from Charmingly Creative and Flora from Craft Lark, they both have beautiful cards on their blogs so do go and take a look, welcome ladies.

Had a great evening last night, went to see Showaddywaddy at our local Town Hall, brilliant, brilliant show, great guys, met them all afterwards. Well worth seeing if you like Rock 'n' Roll and want a very entertaining night.

I have made this card for my Daughter & her partner for Easter, we are going up to see them Easter weekend so I will take it then, cheaper what with the cost of postage now. I chose this image for my card as my Daughter does a lot of sewing in her spare time making Surf Board Socks for Billabong and now she has an order for Wetsuit bags to go around USA, so her spare time is limited what with her day job as a Solicitor, I am so proud of what she has achieved all by herself.

On the back of some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Card  I stamped my image from Joanna Sheen House Mouse Designs Rubber Stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot, coloured it in with Promarkers and die cut with SB Lables Twenty. Whilst in the die I inked round the edge with TH Bundled Sage. It was the fact I had chosen the Green ink for the edge and Purple for the Lambs hat & scarf that made me decide to keep to these two colours throughout the whole card.

I used the Creative Expressions Spring Green card for the base followed by some Lidls Purple card which I embossed using the Regency Swirls Embossing Folder(cannot remember who this is by), I placed a strip of paper from Hideaway Premium Paper Pad 6X6 vertically across the card as seen and attached the image in the center of this towards the bottom.

I made a messy bow out of a piece of Green Satin Ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons and attached it to the top left corner, I did at first place a sparklet gem in the center but felt the card looked too bare so I took it off and attached some Papermania little Satin Rose Buds in the center of the bow and trailed them down to the image, I then decided to carry up from the image to the sentiment that I printed on the PC, die cut again with SB Lables Twenty and inked again with Bundled Sage. Adding one more Satin Rose in the corner, the other side of the sentiment, finished the card. I could have added more satin Roses round the bottom of the image but did not want to over kill on the roses!

The finished dimensions are 7X5

Blue Wedding

Morning my crafting friends, hope this finds you all safe and well, I hope you Mothers out there had a fabulous Mother's day and was spoilt rotten, my son made me a beautiful card which I will show at the end of this post, and cooked dinner for us as well as mowing the lawns for me. My daughter lives in Cornwall so it was hard for her to spoil her Mom other than by some beautiful flowers.

Thank you all for the fabulous comments you have made of late on my posts, Ang I am sure you would have laughed if you had read my post earlier, perhaps I should have left it lol! Reading it you would have thought I was drunk rather than tired and I can assure you it was the latter lol! We did have a most enjoyable evening.

Remember I mentioned that other Wedding card I was doing for one of the gals at work whose dress is Sliver & Royal Blue with some feathers well here is my card to go with that! She does not know about my blog so there is no fear of her seeing it on here.

I started with my base card joining two sheets of Silver Miri card together to make roughly an 8X8 card, I matted and layered some Lidls Blue card followed by more of the Silver card. I inked up the Craftwell Embossing Folder, that I had with my E Bosser, with my Versamark Pad and placed inside a different shade of Lidls Blue card, I ran it through the E Bosser then sprinkled some Papermania Sliver Embossing Powder over it and heat embossed, as you will see not all the areas were covered but that is how I wanted it otherwise I felt it would be too much. I cut this to size and matted it onto my card.
Using the Silver card and some Crafters Companion Centura Pearl Ivory card I die cut the Tonic Emily die two times and embossed it once with the Lidls Dark Blue card, cutting it around the edge. I attached the Ivory outer piece onto my card then after layering the silver piece onto the embossed Blue card I matted this over the top, turning it round so it was at a different angle as seen. With the inner piece of the Ivory die cut I stamped my sentiment from Creative Expressions Un-mounted Stamps Kind Thoughts and attached this into the center of the Silver frame so it slotted into place perfectly, I feel the card needed this Ivory to break it up a bit as the Blue and Silver was a tiny bit overwhelming on its own. I chose three White Feathers (The Range) and arranged them in the bottom right corner and attached a Hobby House Embellishment Ocean Aurora on the bottom of the feathers to hide where they all joined. I was quite pleased with the finished results and it makes an unusual Wedding card!

There you have the finished card, dimensions are 7.5 X 7.5

Here is the card my Son made for me, I wish I had been a fly on the wall as he had to keep trying to hide from me and find where certain  items were as well as work out how to use the E Bosser lol! He said he did start it one night when I was in bed then realized how noisy the E Bosser was so stopped!!! Bless him, it had a beautiful verse inside too.

Sorry for not getting round to looking at your posts yesterday I hope to catch up today when I finish work.

Thank you for looking, Jacquie xxx
